Its a good idea to go grocery shopping this week for the goods you buy regularly, then keep the receipt. The price of a tank of gas too. It will be useful to compare to prices as the second Trump era progresses.
Im guessing that Ill be making the comparison in posts on Nextdoor, letters to the editor of my local paper, on Instagram and like that. Where overtly political messages wont get through the filters that affect many peoples judgement, simple price comparisons might.
And it will help me know that Im not going crazy, that things are getting objectively worse under Trump and his Republican toadies. Maybe theyll get a spot in the family photo album that a grandchild or great grandchild will look at in amazement.

Gas $3.11 a gallon
GDP of over 3%.
that's what Trump is inheriting, and he should be jusdged on which direction those numbers move.

(15,636 posts)the price of eggs, gallon of gas and blah, blah, blah - being notoriously inaccurate as any sort of real yardstick ...
Also want point out (although shouldn't really have to) that increasing prices is the norm over time, and thus should be expected. Now if we start getting a lot of real spikes in consumer goods .. with our economists pointing to tariffs as primary cause .... Then that's a little different scenario.
