What Trump Has Done

What Trump has done is give permission to racists and fascists to be themselves out in public. A lot of them hid behind a facade of normalcy in the Republican Party. These types have been lurking for a long time and now they are emboldened and have revealed themselves.

One of their missions is to change culture and society.

Let's say you have an interracial marriage. Expect to be harassed, perhaps terrorized.

Let's say you're out for a meal or coffee and you and your friend aren't the same race. Will you be called a "N-lover" until you leave?

Let's say you're non-white and own a home. Can you now expect stones being thrown through your window, a fire bomb, a lynching?

There's no bottom to the possibilities. People who don't want to get involved in social justice will allow non-whites to be treated as second- and third-class citizens.

You didn't think this BS was going to be fully addressed by the persecution of immigrants, did you?

Not that it wasn't already fragile. But long ago the Soviet Union realized that our greatest weakness was our lack of good civil and historical education. Born to repeat.

I said the same thing eight years ago.

And I said - how do we get them to go back under their rocks? It's not going to happen now...now that they have been given permission to be their worst selves. Rather than being shunned, as they should be...they are being validated.
