Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Coolidge didn’t use a Bible. John Adams swore on a law book as a representation of the Constitution. LBJ was sworn in on Air Force I on a Roman Catholic missal.

My question is: Why bring them (2 — his and Lincoln’s) if he’s not going to use them?

Swearing on a bible doesn't make it less likely you are lying. It doesn't "mean more" if you swear on a bible.

I'd bet money Trump is a non-believer. The difference between Trump and the rest of us non-believers is that we don't think we are actually god.
And we mean what we say when we promise something.
