(10,164 posts)Years ago, that was the NRA's primary function: promoting competence and safety among shooters. And to be fair, they still operate those programs, and they're very good. Unfortunately, the organization has shifted its focus to politics, and extremist politics, at that. They have a radicalized, hyper-political leadership that convinces rank-and-file members to keep them in power via scare tactics.
