While taking a general hiatus from watching political TV.....

My TV time has shifted to sports, movies, and documentaries. I have access to Netflix, Prime, Hulu, MAX and Tubi.

One thing I've noticed - there is a shitload of crime entertainment. Not just movies, but docs on crime. Serial killers and 6 part series of a particular crime, usually very gruesome.

I wonder how good this is for a society - to consume on the level that we are fed?

I'm a fan of true crime, but I agree it's over the top now. Discovery ID used to be the dedicated channel for true crime - but it's now everywhere.

The ads on Tubi are pretty pathetic. Lots of Candy Crush stuff.
