There is no working with, getting along with, or compromising

with the MAGA monster. Any politician who thinks so is just incredibly naive and delusional.

Period.

Once Obama got elected and McConnell said his main goal was to make him a one term President, that set the tone for the next 16 years. That is not doing his job of working for the betterment of the people. Which, by the way, really started with Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton. They get away with everything and continually block Progressive Legislation. Obama could not replace a Supreme Court judge with 10 months left in his term, but they rammed ACB through in the last couple months of Trump's term. They have been playing dirty politics, McConnell especially for almost two decades now. When will the Dems learn they cannot work with these people and just find a way to get around them. Biden should have expanded the Supreme Court when he had the chance. But maybe he thought that wouldn't be fair. I am willing to bet by the end of Trump's term there are 13 Supreme Court Justices. Ten of whom will be conservative, way more so than Alito and Thomas. We have been wading neck deep in GOP shit since Roberts Court stole the election from Gore. By the time Trump is done, this country will be too.

Legislation has to be repealed before expanding the court and to do that the legislative filibuster would've needed to be repealed. We had nowhere close to a filibuster proof majority. We couldn't even get Manchin and Sinema repeal the legislative filibuster to codify Roe V. Wade so there was no chance they would've voted to repeal it for the purpose of expanding the court. Despite Biden signaling reluctant's to expand the court. I firmly believe if it ever got to his desk he would've signed it, but it's a moot point, because Democrats never had the means to expand the court in Biden's term.

He basically stated, in no uncertain terms, the GOP is not at all interested in bipartisanship. They will say they want you at the table and then hand you your hat and tell you to go sit in the next room ( I’m paraphrasing here, but you get the point). They have the WH, the House and the Senate. They don’t need democrats…….or so they think.

that they're dealing with sane, rational people who also want what's best for the country.

Problem is, they're not sane, rational people anymore. The MAGA mind worm has turned them into mindless, rabid, snake-handling, self-flagellating zealots.

Just look around and observe. The learning curve isn't that steep.

As mean as that sounds, Democrats need to practice this.

It would be better to emphasize who's actually paying taxes and keep those taxes where they are generated. Make federal funding contingent on local/state matches. Put federal infrastructure in areas providing the most tax revenues; quit trying to stimulate areas that are inherently hostile to the federal government.

Additionally, Dems need to point out that you can't allow your local politicians a pass if you think things aren't going right. On shear numbers, there are more Republicans in public office than Democrats. But the press and Republicans always blame someone else far way (Washington, CA, NY) rather than holding themselves accountable; I think this is a reflection of the people they represent (it's never my fault that I'm miserable).

Going forward there should be no cooperation, just obstruction, period. Dems should have learned by watching maga these past several years. Use the same talking points with no deviation, obstruct at every opportunity, be outrageous and loud every day- that’s how you get the attention of the American public (unfortunately) and hopefully the attention of the sorry excuse of legacy media to get the Dem message out. Hit up all of the social media available and create some of their own. I don’t think the older politicians get it nor are they capable of/ or comfortable with doing much of this. Time to let the younger ones shine and do their thing. And sorry but that’s just being realistic, not ageist. It’s a different world and time to fight like it.
