assigned him to a nearby building.

What could have happened is that originally he was assigned to the Eisenhower bldg but then he proceeded to push his way into the WH. And mayhem ensued.

(1,973 posts)Reports are that Musk came into the US originally on a student visa, but never took any classes and eventually got some kind of work visa and then later his citizenship.
If he fraudulently came here in the first place then his citizenship could be revoked and he could be deported back to South Africa.
Of course good luck of prosecuting someone with a few hundred billion to spend on lawyers.
Darn them illegals....

(8,146 posts)A clown move and distraction that completely overshadowed the rest of the Inauguration, a completely stupid unforced error. She also sees Musk for what he is: an amateur hour act and interloper.

(24,287 posts)Perhaps her refusal to coddle Musk may start a new mindset among republicans (in addition to those already firmly
anti-trump)

(9,990 posts)Musk's favorability was just 36% while his unfavorability was 52%.
Only 29% approve of DOGE, while 39% disapprove.
60% believe that the presidents reliance on billionaires or family members for advice about government policy is a bad thing. Only 12% believe it's a good thing. (That is a huge deal and a big negative against how Trump has been operating so far).
And there is little support for several proposals to change government operations. Only about a quarter of the public support moving federal agencies out of D.C. (26%), eliminating federal jobs (29%), or eliminating entire federal agencies (23%). Even only 43% favor requiring Federal employees returning to the office 5 days a week.

For a short time I thought maybe he was trying to set up an insanity defense or even a strategy to gain sympathy at sentencing. But no more, this guy seems to have a deeper dementia at the beginning 4 years than Reagan at the end of 8 years. He's going to need a really strong chief of staff to reduce the influence of the likes of Leon.
