Am i mistaken or is ICE mostly operating in blue areas

Chicago today, the other day it was DC. I am not completely surprised that Trump would do that. I have not heard of any raids in Louisiana or Alabama or the like.

I don't think we are going to hear anything about specific cases of them rounding up gang members since those guys are actually dangerous and those ICE bastarda are basically cowards.

This ass-hat was actually still on the CBP payroll! IOW, you and I are picking up the tab for his paycheck while he hid behind a cleric's collar but still worked for CBP!

Part of his 'message' as a guest pastor to the UU Church was that 'abortion ALWAYS damages women...' Several women got up and left. I was among them. Haven't been back since that day.

He was on the programs committee and they rest let him have his way because.... well who knows, but I had occasion the be talking to him one day when a man with a beard drove by the church which is located in a sort of small light industrial complex with a couple auto repair places. This GOPer got all defensive, saying the bearded man looked like a terrorist and went all chest puffery. Total buffoon, but everyone else practiced that acceptance thing. Sorry congregation, but I have and maintain boundaries and this didn't fly with me.

But that Republican hard ass? Even the former cleric wondered why he was there. I figured it was to disrupt and try to boss women around. I had to fight the urge to engage and bury him with logic. But some people are not worth the effort.

ICE has been doing mass raids and detention for 20+ years on farms, mostly in red areas, warrant less, no due process, horrific conditions. People who are not directly affected have ignored that, which is a disgrace.

Who knows what Trump is doing?

areas also are likely to have more immigrants there too, as well as family members, friends, other members of their Country, it's like this in STLMO. The ethic mix in STLMO has always been here, Germans at one time, as well as other ethnic groups. Every major urban area has their own ethic mix. And I daresay, tons of these rural areas, depend upon these immigrants to handle their crops, do other chores that need doing on the farms, other related industries.

In the past, we have had lots of immigrants from Vietnam, Bosnia, etc. here in St. Louis MO.

But that's self-selected.

They usually have larger populations and, cet. par., you'd expect more unauthorized immigrants there.

They're more welcoming to the same and are likely to have a greater "illegal alien" population.

They're less abrasive with ICE and are more likely to not readily comply with ICE missions/objectives--need detainer in hand, not a phone call saying one's forthcoming.

They are more likely to have nationally important media companies, and what happens locally is more likely to be reported nationally.

Moreover, blue areas are more likely to want to read and pay for reporting on ICE raids than those whose readership has a "meh" attitude to such things.

Pritzker and Johnson gave a presser today. Pritzker said if they are going after bad guys, he won't object. It didn't sound like raids, but actual warrants or detainers. Pritzker said he hadn't hadn't heard anything from ICE and was in the dark, which is adding the the chaos and confusion. I think not informing Pritzker is being done on purpose to create confusion.

I can't stand that Tom Homan guy. He's really disgusting.

Several operations were carried out by federal officials in South Florida on Sunday, leading to the arrest of alleged undocumented immigrants in Broward County.

Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice took part in the operations, according to posts by the agencies on the social media network X.

Meanwhile, the Miami branch of Homeland Security Investigations posted images on Sunday writing, "excellent collaboration" with other federal agencies about enforcing U.S. immigration laws. NBC6 has reached out to officials about those arrests, but have not yet heard back.

Agents from multiple federal agencies carried out immigration enforcement operations in Austin and San Antonio on Sunday, federal officials said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with the Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives collaborated on “enhanced targeted operations” in both cities, an ICE spokesperson said. A similar operation took place Sunday morning in the Rio Grande Valley, a local station reported.
