Biophilic
(6,552 posts)I'm not religious and I don't intend to put my faith in a god I don't believe exists. I'm not willing to put my life in the hands of some fictitious god. 60 some years of fighting for the Democrats and making a better world for everyone. Now we get this to support us when the world we worked for for 60, 70, 80 years goes down the drain? Nope, I'm really, really disappointed . I'm also very, very sad.
Think. Again.

(130,533 posts)Supposedly God has been on the throne for millennia and he's never lifted a finger to stop all the other disasters that happened throughout history. Seems like he just sits there and and watches the shitstorms as the presidents come and go and cause all manner of heinous fuckery. You're not helping, Rep. Jeffries.

(6,299 posts)God wasn't there for the immigrants being dragged away and hauled off to random countries.
God isn't there for LGBTQ+ people who live every moment in fear right now.
God wasn't there for the countless women who can't get an abortion, and, will have their rights restricted even further, shortly.
If God's on the throne, he must be sleeping. Someone wake him up, please?

The throne right now has a man on it who believes via the SCOTUS he is a modern-day king....., lets plan or step aside.

(102,791 posts)Lots of condemnation going on in this thread. Since it's xitter link, I can't see it.
But I have a feeling that something on xitter might not be legit, for starters and I suspect there's something others are, perhaps, not seeing.
But it's something on xitter so I wonder if it's even real or worth all the bluster.

Where is this 'god' you speak of ???
Where is his throne located ???
Have you personally seen and talked with him ???
Exactly what purpose does he serve ??? (He seems extremely useless)
Have prayers ever solved any problem ??? (Do you have proof of that ???)
I sit here in the year 2025 and just shake my head.

(4,161 posts)I think the Dem baseâs anger at elected Dems for their bizarre, paralyzed accommodationism is building much faster than anyone realizes. Pressure rising, explosion may be imminent

I agree, and accommodationism is a good word for it. I do not mean to suggest Democrats should never vote for anything that will be for the greater good along with Republicans....but these kinds of responses joined with confirming lunatics are outrageous.

(19,704 posts)She talks about them trying to protect the "norms" when there are no norms anymore. Two minutes and 19 seconds long.
It at least made me feel less alone in what I'm feeling. Many elected Democrats seem to be surrendering. That's what this god statement above seems to be...a surrender.
