Got mistaken for a maga today.

Was in Tractor Supply getting some hardware for my log trailer. Guy behind me as I am checking out says to me "Trumps sending them all back" with a big grin on his face . I let my better judgement take over instead of saying anything I just stared at him until the smile faded and he looked away.

I am a 60 year old white guy with a crew cut and close beard. I hate to be seen as a Orange menace draft dodging supporter.

Of course on my way back to the shop I came up with a great comeback. Could have answered, Really? He is sending the 1500 traitors back to jail? That's great!

But I don't think that fast especially when not expecting a interaction like that.

Or if I’m in the mood, “Maybe you’ll be able to get a job now.”

Since the people taking our jobs are afraid to come to work, there is no excuse not to have one - or two.

I’m with you! And I really like the idea of taking over Canada and Greenland. And definitely the Panama Canal. We could make a killing there and who cares what happens to those people. They don’t have any money or an army. We probably wouldn’t even have to nuke them to get that property. I mean unless Trump wanted to just for fun.

If you had engaged in any kind of back-and-forth rant with this guy, it could have escalated very quickly. You never know if these guys are packing, or they might have a rifle in the back of their pickup truck and it's out in the parking lot.

There was no need to incite the guy.

From June:

Tractor Supply said it would be eliminating all of its diversity, equity and inclusion roles while retiring current DEI goals. It did not elaborate on what was entailed in eliminating DEI roles.

The company added that it would “stop sponsoring nonbusiness activities” such as Pride festivals or voting campaigns — and no longer submit data to the Human Rights Campaign, the largest advocacy group for LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S.

The Brentwood, Tennessee-based retailer, which sells products ranging from farming equipment to pet supplies, also said in a statement Thursday that it would withdraw from its carbon emission goals to instead “focus on our land and water conservation efforts.”

I was getting a free sample at Costco and the woman handing them out was talking to anyone who would listen, she said "My old neighborhood has really changed. It used to be all white but now blacks are everywhere." Shaking her head but not looking at anyone. I couldn't believe it and my brain went blind or something. I have been thinking of things I should have said and hope I do say something if it happens again and I am sure it will. They are perfect examples of why we need DEI.

Is this because they are emboldened?

So, back in the early nineties, I was living in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was driving along Hillsborough St., beside the bell tower on N.C.State campus. As I stopped for the light on Oberlin Rd., I realized that there was a collection of skinheads waving signs and flyers and yelling at people. I had already gone with the bald head because of my receding hairline, (I was never carded until I shaved my head. I was 28 when I did this. I was buying alcohol when I was 14. Hysterical) so I was a big, bald, white guy sitting in a 1974, souped up Chevrolet Nova. One of them saw me and ran over to me. I rolled my eyes, but turned to face him.

He comes up and says, "Hey man! You look like a cool person to me! You may want to read this. (Hands me some racist bullshit flyer) I bet you will like it!" I took the flyer and looked at it for a second.

I then replied, "Damn, thanks man! I cannot wait to go show this to my girlfriend!"

He says, "Awesome! What is she like?" with a lascivious look on his face.

I turned and gave him the full glare.

"She is black!" He stood for a second, and then ran back to the others. (Probably because I was 6 ft and 260 lbs, and he was maybe 5.8 ft and 120 lbs with a wet sweater on.) I have no idea what may have happened then because the light changed and I drove off. They were gone when I came back by there later on.

Worthless assholes.
