This is what young Trumpers look like - they aren't the paunchy, middle-aged Bubbas

hanging out at a truck stop in Dumbfuckistan that WaPo reporters love to write about. They're these assholes - urban, well-connected, what were formerly called yuppies:

This set’s most visible political stance is a reaction to what it sees as the left’s puritanical obsessions with policing language and talking about identity. A joke about Puerto Ricans or eugenics or sleeping with Nick Fuentes could throw a pack of smokers outside Butterworth’s into a gigglefest. Recounting her time at one of the balls, a woman tells me she jumped the velvet rope into a VIP section “like a little Mexican.” Then she lets out a cackle. This is the posture that has attracted newcomers to the cause. “Six months into Biden being president, I was like, I can’t fucking do this anymore,” says a 19-year-old New Yorker who once quite literally had blue hair and attends Marymount Manhattan, which he describes as “75 percent women and 23 percent trannies.” He had supported Biden, but “I hate watching the things I say. I took a much farther horseshoe around this time.” Later, a former Bernie supporter (who looked like the most Bernie-supporting person one could imagine with long, curly hair and a plaid shirt) told me the same: He wanted the freedom to say “faggot” and “retarded.”

They're worse than the Bubbas because they should fucking know better.

They were always absolutely serious about this shit.

The other thing that rocked me was the realization that there’s a certain mindset — everywhere, I don’t blame the South — that requires a class of people to be in slavery, and that includes women. They can talk about purity and tradwives, but they pass bounty laws against women seeking a solution for a missed period. They can talk about kids who should be in middle school being so proud to work the night shift to help their parents put food on the table — and have no problem with the end result being a poorly educated and poor permanent underclass.

aristocrats. Personally, I believe it all goes back to southern aristocrat class knowing they could divide the commoners on the issues of race and gender equality. I always think back to the John Birch Society. It worked! They knew what Hekate described two posts above.

The Union was far too easy on the south after the war. It should have been nothing but utter brutality and subjugation of white aristocracy and their minions.

Trump voters have the freedom to say “faggot” and “retarded” – no one is stopping them; there’s no law prohibiting it, no law enforcement agency will arrest them, Trump voters are at complete liberty to be hateful racists and bigots.

And those who oppose Trump are likewise at liberty to denounce the racism and bigotry of Trump voters – to do so is not to ‘police language’; citizens in the context of private society have always been free to criticize language society considers to be unactable, no rights violated, no freedom of speech denied.

without being criticized or shamed for it. In Trump's America, "others" - minorities, LGBTQ people, disabled people - are fair game. If you use those words you're punching down and you're an asshole.

when I was a younger adult in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, "tranny" was a term I heard used frequently among my LGBTQ friends. There was no animosity attached to it and it was frequently employed by those who were drag queens, transvestite and transexuals. I only discovered in the last 15 years it has now crossed into verboten territory.

Not to make excuses for this kid in the example, but just underscoring how quickly cultural norms can change.

to give them cover to say, "faggot" or "slut"? First, what a bunch of wusses. If you want to make incendiary comments, better be ready to back them up if someone comes at you. Don't go crying to the government to protect you. That's not what the first amendment affords.
