Real Time with Bill Maher continues its 23rd season Friday, January 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/7:00-8:00 p.m. PT), with a replay at 11:00 p.m., exclusively on HBO.
This week features a one-on-one interview with Peggy Noonan, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist at The Wall Street Journal, former special assistant and speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan, and author of A Certain Idea of America: Selected Writings.
This week's in-studio panel discussion will include Max Brooks, fellow at the Modern War Institute at West Point, author, and host of YouTubes Max Brooks Breaks Down; and Dan Jones, British historian, TV presenter, journalist, and author of Henry V The Astonishing Rise of Englands Greatest Warrior King.

(32,354 posts)I haven't watched Maher's show for years---but I'll take particular pleasure in skipping this one.
Do you think Maher will take a break from liberal-bashing to critique trump's execrable, stomach-turning actions of this week? Not that I give much of a shit...

(3,360 posts)For me, it was during COVID. His flaming asshole shtick just became really apparent at that time. Total turn off.
In our new bro/masculine-era, I can see him smuggly enjoying it on some level. Really umbearable.
And Peggy Noonan!?!? BLECH. I don't need to be told by that hag that Trump is all unicorns and rainbows.

(5,054 posts)He just kept repeating himself about how Democrats needed to say the words "Islamic terrorism." I got tired of his schtick.

(2,911 posts)I find Noonan to be completely intolerable, not only her beliefs but the way she fidgets around whilst talking. At least she's up first.
Now it gets much better. Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks) is great, I've seen him on Real Time several times in the past, as well as a few of the late night shows. He will be good.
I'm not familiar with Dan Jones, but his books are well received along with his style of writing. Henry V has a 94% rating for the 4 & 5 star ratings on Amazon.
Thanks for posting!
