What's the problem with diversity, equity, and inclusion?

Seems like this is what this country was founded on. The fact that they can use DEI as some sort of horrible acronym, pisses me off. If they don't believe in diversity, equality, and inclusion, what do they believe in?

CRT was a little abstract and people had a hard time defining it and grabbing hold of it.

BLM was hard to deny and All Lives Matter was a weak counterpoint for the purpose of demonizing BLM.

DEI seemed to hit the sweet spot.

However this country was founded on inequity, exclusion, and a very restricted view of who exactly had rights. Specifically it was only 'propertied' men, and generally that meant white men.

We are in a political struggle, again, about who has rights. The fascist Republican Party does not believe in universal rights. It isn't that they want to restrict rights to only citizens, which is bad enough as it denies due process and other legal protections to refugees, they appear to want to restrict rights to only white men, and effectively only wealthy white men. The DEI Panic is being propagated as the justification. To be not a cis white christian man is to be inferior. They have made that absolutely clear.

destructiveness of white supremacy never went away. Patriarchy never went away.

Those who desire both have kicked and screamed every step of the way, pulling down the country by trying to destroy all the progress made.

Right now, those people are in charge at the federal level, with many state governments friendly to the same white supremacist cause.

I don't know what is going to happen, but I do know we have to fight.

...it was "political correctness." Before that, we were "bleeding heart liberals." I'm sure there was something before that, too.

Their problem with DEI is that it does not recognize white male superiority, which they consider obvious. I mean after all, their God is a white guy, their savior is a white guy. Clearly nature intends white guys should be acknowledged as superior.

Believes in whomever lies the most with the most viciousness while being the least competent to fill any position.

The GOP also prioritizes whiners wearing enormous chips on their shoulders because someone dared tell them they erred, when in fact, they were erring. The GOP also prefers nihilistic types who will say or do any old horrible thing in order to worship at the feet of their dear leader and his unelected shadow.

They also want types who spout Pinochet economic nonsense even though that never works anywhere and anytime.

Evidence based knowledge and expertise is right out. No brainiac need ever apply.

But just like Los Angeles is enormous, the United States is too. Our strengths and our riches as so vast that these dimwitted fools will only scratch the surface. They will round on one another too. That is inevitable. You cannot play with Stalinism and not find Beria staring at you hatefully from the corner. Robespierre always gets guillotined by his fellow travelers. It is the way these things wicked always go, even for Quadifi and Saddam.

Have hope and stay the course. Democracy, to paraphrase Churchill, is the worst form of government except for every other type humans have invented.

Good news for presidents Hoover and Buchanan though. Nobody will remember them after this.
