.Com implies something commercial. Government would be .gov and non-profit would be .org.

This is a media-driven org - do your own research on the people behind it.

Nextgov/FCW is owned and controlled by GovExec, a market-leading information platform focused on government missions[5][7]. The publication operates as a specialized media outlet covering federal technology, policy, personnel, procurement, and politics in the federal government sector.

## Leadership Structure
The key executives include:
- Tim Hartman as CEO
- Constance Sayers as Chief Revenue Officer
- Frank Konkel as Editor-in-Chief
- Peter Goldstone as Chairman[5]

## Editorial Focus
The publication focuses on covering federal technology transformation, including:
- Cybersecurity
- IT modernization
- AI and emerging technologies
- Innovative acquisition
- Digital management
- Federal legislation and policy[7]

## History and Evolution
Nextgov has been covering government technology since 2008, while FCW began in 1987 as a print weekly. The two publications merged in May 2023 after previously being competitors from 2008 to 2021. GovExec acquired FCW in September 2021, leading to their eventual consolidation[1].

Regarding political spectrum positioning, the publication appears to maintain a neutral, technical focus on government operations and technology implementation rather than taking partisan stances. Their coverage primarily centers on factual reporting of government technology initiatives, budgets, and policy implementations rather than political advocacy[7].

very much.

"Next Gov" sounded like a likely name Musk would choose when taking over our government, doesn't it?

I've been seeing too many conspiracy theories, I guess, but I've never come up with one of my own before. Paranoia, I guess, but I've heard it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.
