Too many people think he is going to get away with it.

He won't. If Congress doesn't do the right thing, somebody else or elses WILL.

but I think the chances of that happening again are very, very, very high if the regime can't be persuaded to leave peacefully.

Trump, Musk, and the P25 crowd have got to go. Musk needs to be deported and all of his assets seized.

He will be gone long before 2028. If he and his regime last six months, I will be surprised.

...that takes place during some mass weekend gathering/retreat of POTUS, VP and all the cabinet, Senate and House members.

Is there anyone in the line of succession that we would want in the Oval Office?

His goal is to create a crisis so that he can declare martial law, suspend the Constitution, and become president for life. That should be obvious. He knows that in 21 months, the opposition will be so strong against him that he will lose Congress and probably the courts. He cannot rule legitimately (and I am now very much convinced that he did not legitimately win the election, but that's a moot point), so he's going to try to take power by fiat.

Do not expect him to play by the law, or abide by the law. Pissing off the FBI and the CIA may prove to be a monumentally bad decision for him personally, because he does not yet have an established power base there, and there are a lot of sharpshooters with both agencies.

If anything, the 70+ year reputation of the CIA being trigger happy political assassins seems to be grossly overstated 😐
