ACLU, and other non-profits for fighting back,

How confident are you that any of these groups are actually going to be able to fix anything or make a difference in this steamroller of bullshit that we're dealing with?
And also, if my name and all of that is on their roster as a donor, doesn't that make me a Target of the new world order?
Part of me feels like I'm being paranoid. But I think that paranoia might be an order at times like these 🤬😞

I wonder about that, too. But frankly, I can no longer afford to support any non profit progressive cause. CTyankee Feb 2025 #1

Before he left office, Biden stacked the judicial branch with a lot of judges. Also, I read somewhere that only about 1% (or less) of court cases ever reach the U.S. Supreme Court.

As for your personal safety, although no one can completely rule out retaliation, I think they have much bigger fish to fry. There are countless high profile people that they'd be far more likely to go after. They can't go after every possible perceived political enemy. There are too many of them. But again, no one can rule it out completely. My advice is not to worry about it because the odds are small.

If you fear your name listed as a member of the ACLU you have a problem. I've been a member of the ACLU for almost 50 years and they helped me stop government persecution when I was targeted by the COINTELPRO program begun during the Nixon administration. So maybe you will be on "the list" and maybe the federal government will find a reason to get you fired from your job, audit your taxes, etc. It can happen. Its happened before. But you should know that the NSA has access to every email and text message you send, every phone call and your location of your cell phone. If they want to, they already have the legal framework to find you.

So now what? You could get rid of your cell phone, stop commenting on DU, and go live in the basement. Or, you (and hopefully many many others) can do your part and join and help fund the ACLU and similar groups.
