They are missing in action.
When the nazi calls a phoney "new conference" months before the election, they had no problem covering it.
The MSM IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.

(4,161 posts)That he is on C-Span is fine.
We need former Presidents giving speeches and having rallies. We need an opposition. Before there is a resistance, we need to have a leader. i.e. opposition first, then resistance.
We have neither.
EDIT: Trump has explicitly said he'd consider a 3rd term, so Obama should be out there campaigning. Even if that is bluster, it keeps eyes focused on the problem. If it prevents Trump from considering a 3rd term, all the better.

Its so serious that a circus clown is President.
I agree that, in a vacuum including more factions dilutes the overall message, but if the message is "I'm against fascism," it shouldn't be that hard to cobble together.

(34,407 posts)or Democratic members of Congress are a dime a dozen...I guess you refer to Senators as well. I find it humorous to read that here.

(4,161 posts)I am referring to the relative prestige they are conventionally ascribed, and to the House specifically. My government teacher in HS said it once in reference to the special little subway trolly senators get, that representatives don't go on. He said with a deadpan, "Representatives are a dime a dozen,"
It isn't my intention to be disrespectful. I think we have the potential to find meaningful opposition, I'm not sure where it will come from.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
