Elon Musk is staging a coup.

What I have been saying, Democrats need to communicate to the American people how serious the situation is. We are not under a democratic Constitutional Republic any more, the usual norms and laws do not apply.

Nicolle revealed she has been asking Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer to come on her show, she has gotten no response.

It is up to us to stop Musk.

1. Lordy, it was bone chilling. The WaPo reporter who "reworded" what is happening to us

using the words that normally would describe a "junta" or "coup" was good. Brought it home for me.

is going on behind the curtain and being carried out by the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society. None of this would be happening without their approval and the distraction benefits them. The Federalist Society is filled with conservative wonks that have convinced themselves, inside their secluded bubble, that only they have the answer for running an efficient conservative government. Their instinct is to do it all within the legal framework. The Heritage Foundation have the same deluded beliefs but they have teamed up with Christian and White Nationalist which gives them political power at the voting booth. The worst part is that Heritage people are ideologues and, legal or not, the end will always justify the means and that includes a Christian Nation.

8. I saw it too, and you're right, it was hard to hear them confirm what we thought was happening is actually happening.

Everyone on her show used the word coup, and the shows that have followed hers thus far have been using it too. Joy is saying it with fierce conviction. I turned on CNN to see if they're doing the same, and it was like I'd wandered over to Fox....they were interviewing a republican senator and letting him go on about how wonderful DOGE is, how wonderful Trump is, how wonderful all that they are doing is, and there was no hitting back on all of this guy's bullshit. They just let him drone on and asked him more questions.

A better word for it is "state capture". Manipulating state institutions, cronyism, lack of accountability and eroding democracy. A clear example in South Africa, but also oligarchy/broligarchy, etc. Musk is a clear example, but it permeates the entire new regime.

lose sight of the fact that this IS a coup, this IS illegal, and it IS an attempt to overthrow our constitutionally elected form of government. This IS a Democracy and they are trying to change it into a dictatorship while ignoring our constitution and the checks and balances built into our Democracy.

What they are doing IS illegal.

There will be an afterwards after a likely civil war. They will have to face the consequences of their illegal actions and we have to demand from our leaders that these treasonist traitors do face the music as a result of their illegal actions.

Punishment…What is the punishment for sedition?
A person convicted of treason in the U.S. can be sentenced to death, whereas a person convicted of sedition will not face the death penalty but can be sentenced up to 20 years in prison.
