General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsFollow up on US Senate busy signals. EVERY SINGLE ONE of my US Senator's offices are giving me a busy signal. There
is something fishy (as in RATFUCKING) that is keeping us from being able to get through calling our senators. Is anyone else having this issue?

(28,485 posts)they simply cannot keep up. Makes more sense to me than assuming these people never answer their phones.
Of course, if the phone system is screwed up. . . .

(69,110 posts)I keep getting voicemail for Thom Tillis (both state and DC office), but I've spoken to a staffer in Ted Budd's NC office twice. I'm calling the office based in his home county.
I also had two very nice conversations with my Democratic representative Valerie Foushee's DC and local offices.
I noticed that the VM recording for Thom Tillis was distorted. Maybe they are getting an overwhelming number of calls. Good. Keep it up.
I read that Republicans call more often than Democrats. All of them are getting thousands of calls from Republican voters cheering them on. Fight back. Call!

Today it was fine.

My Capitol Hill sources tell me they were receiving over 600 CALLS PER MINUTE
KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. WE ARE WINNING! 🔥
I hope to God that it's for exactly the opposite reason

(69,110 posts)Historically, Republicans call their representatives much more often than Democrats do.
We spend too much time in performative virtue signaling protests and overlook the basics. We need to start calling our representatives and visiting their offices, showing up at town halls. Talk to them.

(69,110 posts)Paper letters used to get attention but I don't know how true that is ever since the anthrax attacks. And the attacks on USPS.
Apparently phone calls and face to face visits are best now.
