Pushing live production code cooked up by some young coders over a week of sleepness nights in place of a legacy system that is fundamental to the operation of the US government is against every programming best practice.

Josh Marshall:
New Exclusive building on Wired's reporting: Musk operatives have already pushed live to production extensive code changes to the Treasury Department payment system which makes 95% of fed govs payments. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/musk-

Corey:
There's clearly no QA process, live testing with mocks, technical support for bugs, etc. This is insane. It's the coding equivalent of hammering a complex, fragile machine until it does what you want.

Corey:

Kait:
There is no scenario under which these events are rational and legal. This is a terrorist attack on the US by Elon Musk. These people should be arrested on sight and never let out.

Joe Gordon:
What? This isn’t terrorism. It’s way worse. It’s a sabotage attack and coup. He’s not doing it to send a message. He is trying to take us down.

We don't even know who's doing this or whether they've ever had a background check by the FBI.
For that matter has Musk ever had a background check?

This is absolute lunacy.

I'm not being flippant, but both of these things come to mind... You can't be on SDI or anything because that not only cute your income but marks you as a "dei" person. And I'm guessing they can rewrite the tax code to find a glitch anywhere they feel like it , enough to send you to the gulag...

Musk and DOGE seizing the Treasury payment system is illegal and unconstitutional. It is a long shot, but perhaps Federal law enforcement could retake control of the Treasury payment system from Musk and his DOGE Agents.

If a Judge rules again that freezing federal money is unconstitutional then the FBI and other Federal law enforcement agencies would have a legal basis for retaking the Treasury payment system. They must be loyal to their oaths to defend the Constitution, not to any illegal orders to support an unconstitutional action by Musk. Hopefully these Federal Agents would be loyal to their oaths to defend the Constitution and not to those who are in violation of the Constitution.

The Federal Agents could restore control of the payment system to the civil service, who could then lawfully restart the federal payments. If Musk and DOGE stop the federal payments (no Social Security payments, no paychecks to federal employees, etc.) and this was ruled unconstitutional by another Judge then the FBI and other federal law enforcement would be able to legally seize the payment system back from DOGE. The loyalties of Federal Agents must be to the Constitution, not to Dictators who are flagrantly violating the Constitution.

"Who in the felon's government would that be?"

That is a vague question. It's too wide a scope (for me). The investigation would fall under the FBI, but that'd either take to long, or would be fucked up due to corruption/purges, or both.

And detain he and his code monkeys. The entire U.S. Treasury accounts payable system now needs to be deloused. The master code is hopefully, somewhere safe. It can replace the spaghetti code that eLOONazi and his code monkeys have been cooking up. Purge the eLOONazi code from the system. Firewall the original master code. Encrypt it if need be. We can't go through this ever again.
