Army to meet 2025 recruiting goals in dramatic turnaround, denies 'wokeness' is factor

Hegseth has vowed to remove "woke" programs and officers from the military. And during his hearing Tuesday, he told senators that troops will rejoice as the Trump administration takes office and makes those changes.

"We've already seen it in recruiting numbers," he said. "There's already been a surge since President Trump won the election."

In fact, according to Army data, recruiting numbers have been increasing steadily over the past year, with the highest total in August 2024 — before the November election. Army officials closely track recruiting numbers.

Instead, a significant driver of the recruiting success was the Army's decision to launch the Future Soldier Prep Course, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in August 2022. That program gives lower-performing recruits up to 90 days of academic or fitness instruction to help them meet military standards and move on to basic training.

There is no 2025 data yet and there is no trend except for Biden's.

4. Exactly. But Fox News is making a big deal about this story and amplifying Hegseth's lie.

That's why I posted this PBS article debunking Hegseth's (and Fox News') lie. Not surprisingly, the Trump administration wants to get rid of PBS.

5. Exactly. Because of the program Biden implemented in 2022 to help recruits meet standards. nt

7. Total BS. Recruiting numbers were up on Biden's watch before the election

There is actually zero evidence at this point that recruiting numbers increased following the election

Everything the dude utters is BS.

DU should have a Propaganda debunkery or Critical analysis forum.

I know you posted this because you suspect that it is misleading and there was also the story yesterday about the made up number of federal employees who had accepted the resign-or-else offer.

10. Trust me, as a former Navy recruiter, making goal is NOT a good omen

We made and exceeded goals in EVERY month that the economy and job market sucked. We struggled, or missed goals when the economy was booming.

It's actually a better indicator of the nations economy, AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WOKE

As the body of the PBS story states in my OP, it has been happening over the last 2 years, thanks to a Biden program that started in 2022 that helps recruits meet recruitment qualifications. Also, the highest numbers occured in August 2024, before Trump was elected.
