Bondi: DOJ to examine DEI policies

By Jeremy Stahl and Mark Joseph Stern

United States Attorney General Pam Bondi released a series of memos detailing her plans for the Department of Justice (DOJ), other government agencies and the private sector concerning investigating and eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) as well as diversity, equity, inclusions and accessibility (DEIA) policies.

In one memo, Bondi states that the DOJ will examine its use of DEI, including whether the department awarded organizations federal grants to "advance" DEI and whether it has influenced policy reform. Furthermore, in another memo, Bondi stated that the DOJ's Civil Rights Division will investigate private sector and educational institutions that receive federal funding to "eliminate and penalize illegal DEI and DEIA programs."

Additionally, in an effort to "free resources to address more pressing priorities and end the risks of further weaponization and abuses of prosecutorial discretion," Bondi said that the department will move away from bringing cases under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), limiting prosecution to "more traditional espionage."

Google is joining Meta, Amazon, and other big tech companies in winding down its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

In a Wednesday memo to employees that I obtained (and you can read below), Google’s head of HR, Fiona Cicconi, said there will no longer be DEI hiring targets due to the company’s status as a federal contractor and recent “court decisions and US Executive Orders on this topic.” As The Wall Street Journal notes, Google also removed a line included in previous annual SEC reports saying that it’s “committed to making diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do.”

Google spokesperson Chloe Cooper tells The Verge the company is “committed to creating a workplace where all our employees can succeed and have equal opportunities, and over the last year we’ve been reviewing our programs designed to help us get there” ...

"we only want to hire mediocre right wing white men, so we're going to fire everyone else".

It would save SO much time.
