Why does anyone think we have past the midterms to get things done in this battle against Trump and Musk?

Why does anyone think we have past the midterms to get things done in this battle against Trump and Musk?
Trump, Musk, and Maga know that they are likely to get smoked in the midterm elections of 2026 so they will need to accomplish their evil within these first 2 years and they will do and say anything they need to do. So we really should not place too much of our hopes in the midterms because it might be all over by then.

In court rulings that go against them, how are they made to obey those decisions, even from SCOTUS? What if they just say "no"?

I have little confidence that Congressional leadership has a concerted plan for pausing, much less rolling back, the recent Trump initiatives. I’m guessing that they’re expecting that somehow the old ways of doing business will prevail. That doesn’t seem like a reasonable expectation.

It will open more options. Likewise winning more state races will give us more options.

Trump will simply ignore any federal court decisions or orders, even the Supreme Court who have empowered this monster with being above the law.
How does SCOTUS enforce any ruling they might make that goes against Trump? Hold him in contempt? He doesn't care. Send federal marshals? They work for the DOJ and this DOJ works for Trump.

Our only viable option was on election day 2024.

In order for both side to feel its a fair election, we'd need non-governmental organizations like The Carter Foundation, or the like. I don't know how it could happen, but wouldn't that help such a divisive mess of a country at election time?

I'm not one to say we won't have midterms,
but we should've been working harder to safeguard elections since 2000.
And elections alone won't save us anyway

Sometimes for entertainment or other purposes. More broadly, it’s human nature. I think that’s why people look beyond to 2028. I expect that eventually to flip as the mid terms draw closer and take center stage.
