Idaho House widely passes bill to make firing squad main execution method

The Idaho House on Thursday widely approved a bill to make death by firing squad the main death penalty method in Idaho.

If passed into law, Idaho could become the only state to have death by firing squad as the primary death penalty method.

Only five states allow firing squads for executions. But the firing squad isn’t the primary death penalty method in any of those states, a spokesperson for the Death Penalty Information Center told the Idaho Capital Sun.

After less than 10 minutes of debate, the Idaho House approved House Bill 37 on a 58-11 vote Thursday.

and the locals who won the lottery for hunting the human get to chase them down and kill them.

Because that is the type of people they seem to have in charge in Idaho.

They just have to shoot someone but we all know who is mostly on death row.

Idaho will probably have a lottery for who gets front row seats.

Perhaps pay for view.

Which gun of mass destruction will they choose?

Do those getting gunned down get to decide which weapon of mass destruction they prefer?

Will the gunned down get to smoke a cigarette before being gunned down?

I suppose more states will follow suit, I’m surprised Texas isn’t the 1st state to do this form of execution!

But I'd rather be shot than injected. Sick to say, but taking a bullet is probably more humane.

I agree, I would choose firing squad over injection (because it is often botched), hanging, electric chair, gas chamber etc.

This of course assuming the best alternative by far is abolition.
