I'm a great grandmother

At 7:00 am this morning.
Baby boy came in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. with a full head of hair.

I’m sorry for the world we are bequeathing to him. I wish I had better news to give him on his birthday. But nevertheless, he will have a family full of kind and loving and compassionate people who will support him in all ways forever. In this way he will be a very lucky boy, because many children live in an environment of anger and cruelty and grow up not to know any different.

But enough of the Debbie Downer talk. I’m presently on cloud nine and it’s nice to have something wonderful to celebrate.

I became a grandmother last April, something I hadn't dared to hope for.

It was a lot of hope for my daughter to survive, yet she did! Neither of us thought she might be able to have a child, and yet, here she is!! Unfortunately, she enters the world in a time of peril, and while I'm on the verge of leaving it. Irony upon irony.

A healthy family to love and care for your great-grandson is the richest inheritance he could have!!
