Ye's Super Bowl Commercial Directs Viewers To Yeezy Swastika T-Shirt
Ye (formerly Kanye West) followed a bizarre rant on X with an equally strange Yeezy commercial during the Super Bowl, directing viewers to the company's website which showed nothing but a white t-shirt with a black swastika on it Sunday night.
The rapper known as Ye has been vocal about his mental health struggles, which have been blamed for the erratic behavior that periodically torpedos his business empire, namely his clothing brand Yeezy. This is not the first time Ye has openly espoused antisemitism, but it is the first time he centered his clothing line on the symbol of hate.
During the Super Bowl, Yeezy.com aired a commercial showing Ye in a dentist's chair getting full-mouth grills. The rapper looks straight into the camera and announces he spent all the money for the commercial on his grill. Then he directs viewers to the Calabasas-based Yeezy.com.
At the time the commercial aired, Yeezy.com showed several items of clothing for sale including Diddy's Sean John brand and a black shirt with white lettering that read "White Lives Matter." Within hours, however, the only item pictured on the website was a white T-shirt with a black swastika on it. Beneath the shirt, the description reads simply HH-01 presumably a reference to the greeting that accompanies a Nazi salute. It was listed for sale for $20.
