Some are speculating that it’s a move by Dewine in an effort to head off Vivek, who is apparently looking at a run for Governor. Or maybe I should say have the governorship bought for him.

If Tressel would agree to run for Governor. This could be Dewines move to head Vivek off at the pass. Tressel is a popular person in Ohio because of his coaching career and I think he’s pretty well thought of by most people. The only thing is unless the Dems come up with a superstar candidate I think they’d have trouble beating Tressel because of his reputation unless he totally screws up these next two years which is unlikely. And hopefully, given his background, he’s not on board with defunding universities and public education.
