Trump says Israel would hand over Gaza after fighting is over, no US troops needed
Earlier, amid a tide of support in Israel for what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Trump's "remarkable" proposal, Defence Minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the army to prepare a plan to allow Gaza residents who wished to leave to exit the enclave voluntarily.
"I welcome President Trump's bold plan. Gaza residents should be allowed the freedom to leave and emigrate, as is the norm around the world," Katz said on X.

I doubt the wave of refugees from places like Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Libya has been the only or main factor in so many European countries moving to the right with an increase in nationalism, but it certainly has been a factor.
Note Trump refers to it as leading to peace ignoring that ethnic cleansing of 2.2 million people is NOT peace. It is a war crime.

People either agree with him or are afraid of him.
He is a mob boss and they like to commit crimes.

(35,140 posts)get to be so afraid and timid?
It's a bit hard for me to wrap my mind around
all the people who have caved to Trump.
Even the Democrats can't seem to muster much
of a fight.
I guess it started with Gore v. Bush and we never
really got our mojo back once the Republicans
locked up the courts.

(81,248 posts)We saw how cruel Reagan was, closing down the psychiatric hospitals,
and giving power to the wealthy. Then Gingrich and his band of thugs
stalked the Clintons, and other Dems. Teaching them to be afraid.
The banks stole our IRAs and crashed our housing market.
The SC backed Bush stealing the election. The die was cast then.
Our democracy was no longer functioning. The courts backed the
hostile right wing and wealthy class.
Relentless decades of Russian propaganda via Fox News.
And Trump being installed into the WH the first time and again now.
The final blow to our democracy and the Dems know it.
Yes the rapidity of the entire US govt folding for Trump is the most
amazing political event of my lifetime.

(5,096 posts)Do they have teams to like extract him under cover of the night or some interception while he's in transit or something?
Obviously I've no clue how any of it runs, so really asking. Like do they even go up against military to get these extra special pieces of shit?
Irish_Dem
(81,248 posts)And if The Hague actually did get Trump, he would order the US military to come get him
at any cost.
Usually people are not up against the US military, the most powerful military in the world.
ETA: Capturing and kidnapping a sitting US president would be seen as an act of war.
No matter how deserving he is.

(10,478 posts)Palestinian refugees? Let's see...has this problem ever cropped up before, and if so, how was it handled? Did it work out to everyone's satisfaction? Did it cause any downstream problems? Seems like it could cause the type of problems that go on for decades, but who am I to know.
OFFS, the stupidity of this man is limitless.
