Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Enforcement
If you don't know what this act does, it basically makes it illegal for US Citizens to bribe foreign officials.
So it is now open season on bribing foreign leaders.
Welcome to the new U.S of A

(22,979 posts)wont happen. Turmoils be in his effed up 🧠. On the other hand, musk is as or more dangerous than shithole and Vance is crazier than both. Then there is the cabinet and they are pretty effed too, so the 6 US SC justices and republican congress and red states and the RWers, MAGAs, Nazis, etc.
USA - WTF and many in world say the same thing.

(35,820 posts)I am one of the few ppl that think the Dems are showing up and being counted.
Tsf is in a very weak position, be it nationally or internationally.
As far as polls showing his approval
.highly skeptical
just like election polls.
For a while, I thought I was the only one telling people not to lose it: this is our system of checks and balances at work.
Hell, no, we dont have a system where one person can do all the kinds of things trump and musk have tried to do. On another post, I used the analogy of a tennis match on television. Cover up one side of the screen with a piece of paper and all you see is one sides volleys. Now here we are three weeks later, and you can take the piece of paper down because what we are seeing are the volleys coming back.
Now both of them are angry and are threatening judges. This is so incredibly unprofessional.
There have been hints that they would not abide by the judges rulings. As I pointed out on another post, however, they could be fined dailyexponential fining would make their liability go sky high, especially if the judge decides to fine both the kiddies working for them and musk himself.
Oh, what a joy. Now we can fight it out in the American court system with the taxpayer picking up the tab for both sides. Probably lawyers will charge at least 550 an hour to duke it out on each one.

(43,165 posts)I was speaking with my lawyer friend today, and we were both marveling about how this has had the country in an uproar.
He made the point that you would expect reader comments in places like the New York Times and the Washington Post to show some knowledge of how the system works. But no, those comments showed people were upset, just as the comments here were. The same goes for other political forums.
It shocked and amazed me that my teachers union president had to send out a 4 to 5 paragraph explanation that Trump and Musk would be met by legal action. Wouldnt you think that teachers teachers of all people should know this?
And dont tell me that its the theater staged by Trump. If that were the case, then why would he be threatening judges?
The fact of the matter is that these two people Trump and musk are incredibly ignorant about how the system works. Who is going to pay for all this?
If musk has the assets, he should pay.
I wonder if Supreme Court immunity will protect Trump? This is so incredibly ignorant that it shouldnt.
