(25,557 posts)A friend and I stood on line in the heat for 5 hrs or so to pay our respects at St Patricks. Then I went down next day to see the procession head to Penn Station for the funeral train to DC. Devasting times.

I was watching on TV the night he was shot when they broke in with the news. All I remember is just sobbing for hours. The first time politics and hatred broke my heart.
