It will always be the Gulf of Mexico - eff that shit

The name "Gulf of Mexico" (Spanish: golfo de México; French: golphe du Mexique, later golfe du Mexique) first appeared on a world map in 1550 and a historical account in 1552. It has been the most common name since the mid-17th century, when it was still considered a Spanish sea.

Knowing these idiots, they’ll probably issue thousands of crudely printed stickers to put on classroom maps. Or better yet, just issue Sharpies.

Carnival and MCS still have references to the Gulf of Mexico. Interestingly, Royal Caribbean looks like it’s trying to thread the needle by not using any name. The ships depart from the Port of Galveston and when you click on the link to see a map, it draws a route across a large body of water that has no name at all.

What if tomorrow Russia said that the Bering Sea is the Sea of Russia? Or what Cuba decided to name the Straits of Florida the Straits of Cuba or the Straits of Fidel Castro? You then open a Pandora's box where now everyone can decide to name features however they see fit. Their logic, not mine.

Living, playing and working near the Gulf. I currently live about a 20-30 minute drive to reach the beautiful green water and white sugar sand beaches along the Gulf. Locals usually just refer to the Gulf, but we all know which Gulf they mean. It has been the Gulf of Mexico and will continue to be the Gulf of Mexico. Donald tRump can jump into the Gulf of Mexico for his efforts to impose his idiotic will on everyone.
