"Eggs were always gone by the time I got out of work in the afternoon. Haven't had a weekday off until today, so I decided to come by this morning to see what the deal was, and this is the sight I was greeted by.
Not even 30 mins into opening and the 5 dozen eggs were picked clean. The three limit applies to units, not egg quantity, so getting three 5 dozens count the same as getting 3 2 dozen units. One of the workers estimated they were gone within the first 10 minutes. People were already lines up outside prior to opening waiting for eggs.
The dairy section was well guarded, they have employees enforcing the 3 unit limit as well as controlling cart traffic. You can only enter from the far left if you want any eggs or dairy.
Can't wait for this craziness to be over, felt very much like the rationing off other goods during the covid days."

(2,145 posts)I only buy eggs if I have something specific I'm going to make with them, and that only usually needs 2 or 3 of them.
Who's using 60-180 eggs?

(1,196 posts)I have heard that same claim a few times.
I just look at them and say "yeah your right and the poultry farmers are in on it. They love losing money not selling their product."
Just can't fix stupid.

(3,052 posts)you can't fix stupid, and its becoming more the standard every month.
It very well could be that the 'stupid' headcount has been constant throughout the decades, but due to social media we're much more aware of it now.

(66,520 posts)It's like the masses have been programmed that they simply can't live without eggs.
My apologies to anyone who literally, for some medical reason, can't live without eggs. Or if you have a toddler that won't eat anything else. Apologies to you too.
