(77,266 posts)Hacking into our election data to alter the outcome of our vote seems to be a violation of
multiple laws, as is trying to steal 80 million $s from the State of New York, or the stopping
of the collection and reporting of the global atmospheric CO2 levels from the NOAA lab
@ Mauna Loa Hawaii, or the stopping of life saving food and support to some of the poorest
people in the world because you are a racist a-hole, or taking over our government and its functions
under the lie it is to stop inefficients.

(59,448 posts)No one even disputes he did it, and it's FUCKING ILLEGAL.
Not just taking the money, but also hacking the accounts to get it.
IT'S ILLEGAL! WHY HASN'T HE BEEN ARRESTED?

(8,195 posts)The penalty is $1000 per person whose data is accessed. They accessed the Social Security database which has data for about 340 million Americans.
That's a $340 billion fine.

(596 posts)I live in an area decimated by Helene last fall. We have barely scratched the surface in our glacial-paced return to a sense of normalcy. It will take years of hard work, sacrifice and beaucoup bucks. If you haven't visited here since the hurricane, it's hard to grasp the immensity of our situation. Many, many people lost everything and some even lost loved ones in the span of an hour or two. We haven't even gotten all folks in transitional housing yet.
I'm quite concerned that what
happened to New York state's FEMA funds will happen to us next. That was blatantly illegal, BTW.
I have only gratitude for the help (the prior) FEMA gave us. But right now I don't trust FEMA-Nouveau and don't even know if they have sent anyone to replace the heros who have given us much needed help. Will FEMA-Nouveau decide to continue at the usual funding level or only send 1/2 the number of workers, then turn their backs on us?

Is this a veiled threat aimed at Mayor Eric Adam's to keep him in check?

(106,157 posts)if he doesn't cooperate sufficiently on the deportations. "Veiled" is generous, though. More just "a reference to".
