Donald Trump's Gen Z Popularity Plunges

Newsweek

President Donald Trump's favorable rating among Generation Z voters has dramatically fallen since the 2024 election, according to a poll.

A survey from The Economist/YouGov released Wednesday revealed the president's net favorability rating among those aged 18-29 is minus 18 points. This is a drop from the plus 19 favorable rating he scored among this demographic in the days following November's race.

The latest Economist/YouGov poll showed that a majority of U.S. adults have an unfavorable view of Trump (52 percent), while 46 percent hold a positive view of him, giving the president a net favorable score of minus 6.

When broken down further to 315 respondents aged 18-29, the poll finds that Trump has a 39 percent favorable rating, compared to 57 percent who said they have an unfavorable view of the Republican president.

The Gen Z members in the poll said they were turned off by mass deportations, targeting of DEI programs, and comments that the US would move Palestinians out of Gaza and take it over.

The fact that our closest living relatives in the animal kingdom are violent chimps speaks volumes.

Only 43% of 18-29 year olds voted for Trump, less than any other age group.

If some of them had done even a tiny bit of research, we could have avoided this mess entirely.

has gone out of the window. At first, I felt bad for Gen Z having to go through what they did with COVID and inflation and cost of living issues. What they are going through reminds me of how Millennials suffered with 9/11, financial crisis, etc. I looked at them as that younger sibling you feel bad for since they are also dealing with the same abusive parent that you dealt with.

Gen Z instead of using their suffering to force positive change they used it to force destructive change when it came to embracing racism and Trump. This generation is even more racist than the Millennial generation. That's the thing that really surprises me about them. They really debunked my belief that as each generation that comes after becomes less racist than the previous generation.
