Well, it sounds like the "buyout" is just another huge fiasco that costs the taxpayers money.

https://www.businessinsider.com/75-000-federal-employees-trump-elon-musk-doge-buyout-2025-2

The annual federal workforce attrition rate far exceeds that number -- probably by 50,000 or more. So, it's probably a good bet that most if not all of the 75,000 employees that took the buyout were planning to leave anyway.

Way to go Musk!

3. Ah, yes, of course. They were always going to find a way to screw the people who took this deal anyway.

For instance the Limestone mine where records are kept. Sire it sounds a little strange but it is widely known and records DO have to be kept. There are 700 people working there were told. I’m sure that area really likes those 700 jobs (aside from the people liking to work there) because they buy things like cars, houses, lunch/dinner at local restaurants, etc.

I basically grew up in the Tidewater region of Virginia. It would barely exist if it weren’t the shipyard and military. Look at the car dealerships literally right outside Ft. Eustis. Lots of young single GI’s with nothing but disposable income. It takes newbies right out of basic about a month to realize that without a car (especially a bright shiny muscle car)on the Peninsula, you don’t exist.

They will use it to their advantage.

And they are sadists, they get off on the pain they cause.

5. Buyouts, etc., are part of trump's plan to do a lot of stuff and appear in control. Actual results won't be known

until someone needs help, and finds it's not readily available.

Bet everytime trump's poll number decline, he's round up and deport several thousand poor immigrants and/or cut more jobs. That's what makes rube trumpsters happy.

6. Aren't these supposed to be "deferred" retirements?

As I understand it, Uncle Sam is paying their salaries until sometime in September. So they're getting paid to stay home for the next 6 months. After that, who knows? I guess the regular retirement benefits kick in. Or else they're screwed and they get nothing.

The benefit to Chump is that he will replace these career federal workers with untrained MAGA cronies, on a brand new patronage system that has nothing to do with the civil service unions.
