In her resignation letter, Danielle Sassoon describes the explicit quid pro quo that the DOJ arranged with Mayor Adams

...HUGE SCANDAL.

This isn't going away.

Top DOJ officials, federal prosecutor resign after orders to drop Adams case

Manhattan's top career federal prosecutor resigned after attorneys in her office were directed to drop their criminal case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, three sources familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News.

Danielle Sassoon stepped down from her role as acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York on Thursday, days after a top Justice Department official ordered her office to dismiss corruption charges against the mayor.

Pushing back on Bove's directive to dismiss the mayor's case, Sassoon wrote she was "baffled" by the process and argued the basis behind the orders was not valid. And she alleged Adams was engaging in an "an improper offer of immigration enforcement assistance in exchange for a dismissal of his case."

Sasson's letter to the attorney general alleged that during a meeting with Justice Department officials last month, Adams' attorneys "urged what amounted to a quid pro quo," allegedly offering the mayor's cooperation with Trump administration priorities in exchange for the dismissal of the charges.

Wow.

In her resignation letter, Danielle Sassoon describes the explicit quid pro quo that the DOJ arranged with Mayor Adams: dismissal of criminal charges against him, in exchange for his support of Trump's political agenda.

Lawless and corrupt —

Extraordinary development: Danielle Sassoon, a former law clerk to Justice Scalia, member of the federalist society and legal superstar, quit a dream job as acting head of SDNY U.S. attorneys office rather than do Trump’s bidding and drop criminal charges against the NYC Mayor.

thread:

...and, look at Trump with a tell that he knows there's scandal here:

President Donald Trump on Thursday denied instructing the U.S. Department of Justice to dismiss a criminal prosecution of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Trump's denial came as the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan and five senior DOJ officials resigned over an order to toss out the case against Adams, which was issued by a top DOJ official who previously represented Trump in his own criminal case.

"I didn't," Trump said at the White House when asked by a reporter if he personally requested the dismissal. "I know nothing about it. I did not," Trump added.

Showing that integrity is more important than servicing the dictatorial whims of the Fourth Reich.

If the Republic survives she should have a bright future in it. She deserves a lot of public support.

Wonder what the SUPREME COURT thinks of her and this corruption. After all they gave immunity for all government actions.

have turned the entire U.S. and many state Governments into an Organized Crime Syndicate......(Mafia) like so many other Tyrant ruled countries..........

We have crack whores on East and West Colfax here in Denver that have more morals than anyone in the Republican Party.
These crack whores have things they won't do for any amount of money.......period

I have never understood, how the Republican Party, with all their tens of millions of fanatically religious/evangelical voters, can possibly claim a moral high ground.

Joyce Vance just made the case I've been suspecting, that TSF/Homan have been wanting to raise their mediocre deportation numbers. NYC is a sanctuary city with likely many immigrants. Cut a deal with Adams to let them in and the deportation numbers soar! Also an opportunity for TSF to stick it to NYC.

THIS is how you do it. You stay in Government service until you get ordered to do something that violates your conscience, and when you can't do it, you leave...THEN. You don't stay in Government and still try to resist, you leave.

Ms. Sassoon did exactly what I hope I would do in the same type of situation. She showed real character by doing it, and can sleep at night. Brava!
