I think it could be argued that we would not be in this mess we are in today if not for the partisan, radical ideologues in the Supreme Court.
When everyone in America watched what Donald Trump did on January 6, 2021, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that because of the 14th Amendment and the law that states an insurrectionist cannot run for political office, they ruled that Donald Trump should not be on the ballot in the state of Colorado. The radicals on the US Supreme Court said, yes, he should be on the ballot. Even though all of them had declared their support for the Constitution and for precedent in their nominations, they chose political ideology and said that Donald Trump should be on the ballot.
And when Trump was charged with very serious crimes, he appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. Once again, they ruled against the rule of law and our Constitution and in favor of political ideology. They said that the president had immunity from prosecution for crimes committed while in office. Trump, perhaps rightly, interpreted that as he could do anything he wanted to do and there would be no consequences for it.
In my opinion, that is where we are today as we deal with the decisions of this Supreme Court. If we are not already there, we are on the brink of a constitutional crisis. I think this is the legacy of this Supreme Court.

Many forget SCOTUS 6' horrid ruling and put much of the blame on AG Garland's failure to move immediately on taking office to personally investigate, prosecute and jail the president who tried to OVERTHROW THE US GOVERNMENT, resulting ultimately in the criminal president getting completely away with his treason.
Thanks for the reminder.
