Republican legislators are more afraid of losing their jobs than losing their country

Let that sink in for a moment and then get out there and protest. No one is coming to save us except us.

If Mcturtle is putting country over party...think about it.

Literally irredeemable Mcturtle is doing the right thing on the worst of the cabinet appointments and somewhat standing up for an independent legislature.

It isn't the job, though. It is the club. They are in the process of abdicating their job now to their imperial executive.

US history has been a tension between the branches of government. I don't know when there has been such a willing self-neutering of what was, historically, the seat of most governing authority.

Tan your balls and fight for the damn people that pay you. Trump and Musk do not pay you a fucking time.

but a Phonecall from dip-stick convinced him to confirm.
“We, the people, will have to stand up. . . “
Non violently!
One of the things the dip-stick, et al don’t understand is the impact these cuts will have on the rural areas, small towns and farmers. You take benefits, such as drug copay, crops purchased by AID. The government is a player in the economy. Social security payments in rural areas are the same as the urban areas.

You would think the elected folks would be smart enough to see what chaos, death and sickness their actions have taken, not to say something. But, they’re afraid!

JFWIW, if you can, check out Heather Cox Richardson on Katie Couric Media. It’s two hours. Quit good, a lot of history related to current events. Then follows with a gentleman by the name of Lawrence Tribe.

And the plot is the same - initial disbelief and confusion from the public, followed by resentment and ultimately violent upheaval.

But these are uncivilized third world countries, America is not like that, and this is the first US experience of a Dictator, so the learning curve is steep.

For an education on the topic, research the lives and effects on their country, of:
Pol Pot.
Idi Amin.
etc

It's a long list.

Betraying their oath to the Constitution and the people they ostensibly serve.

Words are inadequate to describe the contempt I have for the Republican Party.
