To have shared a laugh.

There is something inherently funny about chickens. I like mental image of all the hens in the country picketing because we don't provide them with vaccination against bird flu.

…. also means fewer eggs. Amazing how that is not spelled out in the news.

Hubby went out to El Pollo Loco to pick up some of their grilled chicken this evening, and prices had just soared. Makes me wonder how much the rotisserie chickens over at Costco will cost — they may be a loss leader for the store, but there are limits.

H5N1 is expected to ravage avian populations even more than it already has. I really hope it doesn't evolve to jump between human carriers.

We needed a stockpile of vaccines months ago. This has alot of people I trust very concerned. Not to mention endemic threats from regular influenza A, COVID-19 and RSV, but exotic threats like Ebola, Marburg, HMPV

Not a bad time to stock up on N95 or P100 masks, gloves, hand sanitizer. When all the bleach was sold out in 2020, I discovered pool cleaner. Its 10% Na hypochlorite and can make several gallons of regular household bleach. I believe as little as 2% bleach can be used for disinfecting but it has to sit for (10?) minutes ☺️

This is at a large employee-owned supermarket in my city. At Walmart, their regular large eggs are going for that price.
I went to my local food pantry on Friday and they have no eggs anymore but in their dairy section they had a quart of egg whites so I grabbed that.
I eat carnivore so eggs are an important part of my dietary lifestyle. I once ate 4 eggs every morning for breakfast and that's down to 2 now.

If the US keeps culling laying hens by the millions because someone's house cat, a passing sparrow, or a neighbor's cow tests positive for something, eggs will continue to rise.
