Any MAGA supporters gets this from me
..
I no longer will use your services or company.
I STOPPED using a Tile/Marble contractor that I have used for
nearly 40 years. He is a MAGA nutcase.
There are many other subcontractors to use!
I know the ones with the TRUMP a bumper stickers.
I WILL NOT HAVE ANY ALLOWED ON ANY ON MY PROJECTS.
Another service company I used for years, small company, the owner
does a lot of the work himself - NEVER will use him again.
I will NOT spend any monies on ANY Trump supporter.
I even cancelled work after they showed up onsite,
With their Trump truck, told them to please leave!
ONLY ONCE did I allow a worker who drove his large truck w/ Trump sticker on window
to park at jobsite to return I TALKED TO OWNER OF COMPANY, And he had that employee truck NEVER return to my jobsite

semis front grille arrived at jobsite
Told him to remove that crap And do NOT return ever again if he has that
Crap on truck.
I called owner of that company, And I told him the same thing.
No truck will be allowed at any of our job sites with that crap on trucks. Period!

(80,442 posts)On a smaller scale, believe it or not, hairdressers in the Memphis region are "not taught to cut hair" in cosmetology school.
I've tried & tried to get a decent haircut to no avail, then found ONE woman capable of cutting hair, to the tune of $70/cut.
But she is a magat.
I just cannot go there again. Sickening!

(2,561 posts)Over the decades in commercial construction,
No commercial property owners want ANY of that racist crap on their properties.
None.
Most commercial contracts commonly have a legal clause(s) that forbid such.
Some high rise job sites I have worked on have 100s of vehicles, 100s of workers onsite each day,
Dozens of semi deliveries a day THERE IS NO ROOM FOR RASCIST ASSHOLES.
It was bad enough back then on-site when chewing tobacco spit was common.
Thank god thats almost 100% gone now.

(80,442 posts)But DOJ's complete failure to prosecute and imprison tfg has resulted in magats becoming emboldened, as is always the way with bullies whose behavior is not met with swift & stronge opposing force.
I commend you for forcing them to adhere to proper decorum!
Not much I could do with the magat hairdresser who owns the shop. I didn't think it a good idea to piss off a female magat standing over me with scissors.

(7,928 posts)Ive been through 20 hairstylists in the last 20 years. Nobody knows how to figure out how to do a haircut. Or they take longer to shampoo and condition than to do the cut. They don't backcheck their work anymore or make sure both sides are even. Its a sloppy fucking mess. Hurry up, git her dun

(2,937 posts)I am in my 70s. Absolutely no matter what I say, how many pictures I take in, these 20-somethings give me their best Betty White (RIP, loved her), complete with pin curls around the top, flourishes on the sides, and a helmet of hair spray. They think thats what all old ladies want and need.
My preferred look is a bit like the current Jamie Lee Curtisthough a little longer and I dont use product so I dont have the pouffy top, and I have some bangs. But simple. So I bought some good hair-cutting scissors and some cool thinning scissors, and I go for it. And I love the result. If I leave a wing here and there, I just snip it off and thin the end to make it lay down. I can layer using the thinning scissors. Gotta be super carefulthose scissors are sharp!

(1,096 posts)I walked out in the middle, years ago, because she was suggesting strongly something I had no interest in. When I insisted on my decision, she said, and I quote, "Oh, honey, you just need a little push." At that point, I knew she'd cut it her way and be proud of herself for sticking me with the results. She lost a sale that day and the salon lost a customer thereafter.
And I stopped having my hair cut at all just before Covid. The latest stylist insisted I didn't look good in a pixie cut, which I'd had for years. Probably I don't, but I need my hair out of the way of the microscope lens and I don't give a bat crap how it looks. The dogs and cats don't care either and neither does DH. When I tried to explain this to her, she looked at me like I'd just started to speak Ancient Sumerian. She kept inching me towards a full 'Karen' helmet head which would have required shellac to keep out of my way even if it was more age appropriate. And, ew...Ew, ew, ew!
It's now halfway down my back. I get 3" trimmed once yearly to help the short ends catch up. I tie it back and it stays put. Cheap and easy.

small to maybe medium size projects
Really did, except for him ALWAYS putting god into his answers to me.
About when he was going to get the work done! God this and god that
Annoying
Always had to double check his invoices,
Too many times over billing, or forgetting previous draws/pmts

Good for you for doing the right thing which I think we all should emulate as the posters above have. ✊🏼No need to financially subsidize those who loathe us and wish us and all of humanity to suffer.

I finally said, I will no longer use you. I refuse to let you make money off of me so that you can donate it, to the MAGA cause.
I stopped using Home Depot only as a last resort.
I stopped using Enterprise Car Rentals, they donated big to Mierda47.
...
And the beat goes on.
I went to the play Wicked The Musical this weekend. Really good play.
During intermission I was talking to the person next to me about theater.
Well, I got to a point, where we were discussing future plays that we would see.
I asked if she got her Hamilton tickets and she immediately cringed her face,
shook or head back and forth and said "Noooo, I'm not interested in seeing Hamilton."
I instantly knew she was MAGA.
I still tried to convince her to see it. I told her that I was not a fan of Hip-Hop,
but the first time I saw the Disney recording of the Play with the original cast.
I was hooked. Asked if she has Disney+, and she said she does. So I told her to
watch it on Disney+.
Maybe I can convince someone to move past their preconceived bubble prejudices.

(120 posts)Besides, weaponizing politics as part of doing business is unprofessional. TSF 's influence is obvious here. Because he weaponizes everything constantly, he normalizes that unbelievably bad behavior. I'm old enough to remember when you didn't talk politics or religion in polite company. As it happens, a person's values and beliefs are impacted by information, disinformation, misinformation, propaganda, doctrine, dogma, rumor, conspiracy theories and when we're lucky, hard facts. Unfortunately, politics does not bring out the best in most of us, and TSF has turned it into a toxic sludge.
Do what works for you. MAGAts can be mean, conniving, selfish and even cruel I just don't need those people in my life. I certainly don't want them to influence my thoughts or attitude.

(5,096 posts)I already dropped both of those, and the service I have now drops calls even when I'm in my own home, has failed text messages on the regular. I am ready to go back to Verizon as much as I would hate to, I need to be safe.
Do you know of another service that is reliable? I would be thrilled to look into it! I am changing who I am buying from in every way I can. I don't care about inconvenience, that is not a game changer for me. Safety is.

(88 posts)I struggle with this all the time. I am in a super red area, and a lot of my clients are MAGA. One of my very best clients is a huge one. We don't talk politics, but he likes to talk, and I can tell from the conversations.
Would I like to not have any MAGA clients? Of course, but I also am realistic.
My happy medium is to take a portion of the proceeds I make from my MAGA clients and donate them to a blue cause. The largest benefactor this year was the local Pride center.

But if I go into a bar or pizza joint thats playing Fox News, Im leaving and leaving them a review like, This company supports Donald Trump. Unless you want your pizza to taste like boots that have been heavily licked, there are 10 other pizza joints in a 2 mile radius.

(1,783 posts)Made ugly faces at my Harris poster in the window, and the Harris/Walz sign on my door. So out he goes. He was slowly doing a worse and worse job mowing and had stopped weedeating. It was what he agreed to do, for the price, and I told my brother his services were no longer desired. I'll let it go to weeds over my head before I hire any MAGA fool.

(448 posts)Having a list of preferred contractors and retailers is a good idea. Theres so many out there, its your choice who you hire and who you frequent. To say that you do that for everyone just pushes the lever a bit far.
When you purchase a car, used or new, do you look at the ownership of the dealer? A Subaru dealer could be owned by the biggest republican out there. Salespeople, mechanics too. A franchised restaurant could be owned by a very progressive liberal who donates to great causes. How far down, how deeply do you investigate? How on earth do you find time for that?
When I see people saying this, I wonder what you do at Emergency Rooms. You want a doctor to treat you. You want a doctor and staff to help you. Ive never once witnessed a patient ask any hospital staff their political views before treatment.
Contractors? Sure. Retailers? Yes. But many others, it just doesnt work.
