A Pennsylvanian pens a raw and candid letter to Senator Fetterman, sharing their unfiltered thoughts.

Im writing with an urgent, seething sense of betrayal. As a Pennsylvanian who supported you, Ive got to say itf*ck you.
Yes, I mean it. F*ck you, Senator Fetterman. Youve taken political cowardice to a whole new level. The bar for what defines a weak, spineless politician has been driven even deeper into the ground by your actions.
Confirming members of Donald Trumps extremist cabinet? Check.
Meeting with the wannabe-fascist himself at Mar-a-Lago, trying to buddy up to the living embodiment of tyranny? Check.
Your actions speak louder than any words ever could, and they scream abandonment.
Youve turned your back on everything you claimed to stand for. Youve completely disregarded those who fought for you, those who voted for you. Youve abandoned the working people of Pennsylvania. Youve abandoned the Democrats.
When asked if Democrats can "win back white men," you responded, "Im not sure if thats possible, to be honest." Well, let me tell you somethingIm a white man from Pennsylvania, and Im telling you that your priorities are lost. Completely misplaced. Your compass is broken.
Worry about the peopleall the people who believed in you. Worry about the workers and the families who trusted you to fight for them.
Worry about the migrants youve thrown under the bus with your disgraceful vote to confirm Kristi Noel as Secretary of Homeland Security.
Worry about the women youve betrayed, as you helped confirm anti-choice extremists like Pam Bondi for Attorney Generalthe only Democrat to do so. You didnt just ignore them; you threw them to the wolves.
And lets not forget the Constitutionthe one youre supposed to protect. Youre cavorting with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago while our rights, our democracy, and our values are on the chopping block. That is what youre allowing to happen.
You claim you represent all of Pennsylvania, but lets get one thing clearyou do not represent me. You do not represent the people who put their faith in you. You represent your own ambitions, and your actions make it crystal clear that those votes were nothing more than stepping stones for you to grab power.
Well, we wont be fooled again. We cannot afford another coward like you whos willing to kneel at Trumps feet just to stay in his good graces. You said you would be the opposite of Joe Manchin, but in the end, youve become exactly the same.
We will find someone another Democrat. A Democrat who actually fights for us. Someone who stands for us, not for their own political survival.
And I urge every Democrat reading this to join me in demanding that we elect Democrats who actually represent us.

(618 posts)I've felt this way about Fetterman ever since he'd advised his fellow Democrats to stop "freaking out" about Trump. Who'd asked him in the first place, anyway? You are right: he is no different from Joe Mancin. PA Democrats should start primarying him now!

(27,870 posts)...but he has taken steps in that direction. I'm totally disappointed in him, and am hoping he gets a primary opponent when he's up for re-election.

(4,584 posts)You can tell by his dressing down. Also he said to a local TV station, either WGAL or WHT, I forget that he is going to talk to F47 about LGBTQ rights. Good luck with that because the GOP won't hear any of that.
I love your letter and I think he should resign.

(14,479 posts)The desire to be "bipartisan" and making promises to "work with Republicans to find common-sense solutions" -- has this kind of posturing campaign promise ever really won even a single vote for the Democrat who makes it? It is NOT the motivating factor they think it is! Even for independent voters, that is simply not the way to win support anymore. This kind of kumbaya promise may have meant something back in the days when Republicans had honor. But that day is long, long gone, and Fetterman and other Democrats need to know that, now more than ever, people vote for Democrats NOT to work with Republicans, but to STOP them.

(14,479 posts)And, frankly ALL Dems should stop doing that nonsense. Republicans claim to have a mandate, Let them prove it by doing everything all on their own.

(6,993 posts)I agree wholly. Fetterman is well on his way to achieving Manchin status, i.e., oblivious and scorned obscurity, because he has consciously made the decision to appease Mango Mussolini by rolling over for him like a whipped cur in some notably odious ways: embracing and sponsoring the due process denying deport any immigrant accused of a crime but not convicted act; voting for Kegsbreath to allow him to run the military into the ground and make the traitorous confederacy great againin the process; voting for Election Denying Psychotic Bondi, knowing she was going to be a banana Republican tool of using the Justice Department for political retribution; pretending to be a champion of labor and working people while uttering nary a peep about Mango Mussolinis illegal and unconstitutional firing of members of the NLRB which paralyzes it, and this most recent gem where he tells all of us who see this blatant Trumpian dictatorial power grab as what it is: a repudiation of the constitution itself, which so many people have sacrificed and died to preserve over the centuries, to dont worry and just chill out because its not a crisis?!? 🤬🤬😡

Mr. Palmadessa is a true patriot who has observed and been infuriated by these desecrations, as many other Pennsylvanians have, since they reasonably expected Fetterman to be true to his professed values that he campaigned on. Mr. Palmadessa has rightfully and forcefully called him out for his betrayal of those values by his gratuitous bootlicking of this maladministrations fascist jackboots ✊🏼
Fetterman, to paraphrase Brutus in Julius Caesar, appears to be the type of person who manipulatively views lowliness
[as] young ambitions ladder,
Whereto the climber upward turns his face.
But when he once attains the upmost round,
He then unto the ladder turns his back,
Looks in the clouds, scorning the base degrees By which he did ascend.
So if he continues to scorn the voters who believed him and elected him, who were NOT MAGATS, then he will be primaried, presuming democracy survives, as his willful abandonment of us in service to the would be fuhrer will not be forgotten. ✊🏼

(374 posts)Today's issue happened to be from early 2022 and there was an article on Fetterman. It mentioned that it may be a tough campaign for him since he is so "Progressive". Hah, reading that now, the reporter must have been making a joke. He has been a major disappointment.

(15,758 posts)He was a better choice than Dr. Fucking Oz in 2022, but not by much. I had high hopes for his future, but he needs to resign or at least not run again. We will primary him if necessary. We'll hang his votes for Trump's nominees around his neck, and he'll lose.

If a D can't be found, voters can always vote for an Independent Party candidate.

(367 posts)Fetterman is a shameless opportunist very much in the mold of a former Senator from Arizona. He put on a false facade to get elected and now his true colors are revealed. He is at best a coward but a worst a con artist and a fraud. I keep mentioning it but he spent more time fighting to wear athletic attire to the Senate than he ever has fought for us. He spends most of his time attacking our side than Republicans. He probably loves the attention they give him.

(1,126 posts)Fetterman portrays himself as a maverick. Most of us fall for mavericks. Weve got to remember that people can act one way and be another. We need bold tough statesman right now, not pretenders. We need to look at any candidates past actions and try to think if its real or fake. A big job with the other side faking so much.
