Books Mentioning Civil Rights Removed From Shelves at Fort Campbell, KY School

On 25 Sep 1957, paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division (the 'Screaming Eagles') escorted nine students of color into the all-white Central High School in Little Rock AK.

Clarksville Now is reporting that an elementary school at Fort Campbell, KY, home of the 101st Airborne Division, is removing books from its library in response to a Trumpf executive order. Clarksville Now reported it received a copy a letter sent to school administrators from the DoD Education Activity that lays out several directives to comply with the US President's order which includes banning the promotion of "monthly cultural observations."

The eagle should be screaming.

Civil rights is no longer an American value. Irish_Dem Feb 2025 #1
Hi Irish Dem. Trumpf isn't just marginalizing people of color in America, he is invalidating them. C0RI0LANUS Feb 2025 #2

And I must give Eisenhower credit, even though he initiated Operation Wetback in 1954. A few weeks ago I replied to a DU'er saying that "Ike" basically "sat on his thumbs" over civil rights, so I apologize to that DU'er (I think it was DENVERPOPS).

As JFK taught us, an error doesn't become a mistake until you refuse to correct it.
