1. She couldn't get elected statewide in NY, let alone the entire country.

I like her but that's a non-starter. And who's Crawford?

All apologies.

Look, if we continue to say "so-and-so can't win in X-state" as the basis for selecting a standard bearer, we might as well surrender now... Donald Trump - a man unfit to do literally ANYTHING - has twice beaten women with 100X the qualifications. So I reject out of hand the idea that anyone can't win. Anyone CAN win, if they ignite the base and attract the legions of unhappy stepped on people currently getting the shaft.

Experience counts for NOTHING.
Passion and the ability to inspire (even if done by exciting rascist POS's) seems to be the more viable path...

6. There is no chance in Hell that a woman can be elected president in this country

in the foreseeable future. A depraved, incompetent, corrupt criminal defeated two spectacularly qualified women, conclusively proving the point that American voters will prefer the most mediocre man over the most talented woman, because penis. I hate to say it but we are asking for yet another loss if we nominate anybody but a straight white man in 2028, and probably for many election cycles to come.

10. If this is true, then secession and division of the union is the only answer available.

If we cannot nominate, support and win with the energy and competence of our ticket, and instead really believe that playing into the racism of the past (and apparently present) is the only way to power? Fuck that country. I want out of that death spiral.

Almost 30 years ago when Schumer was considering a run for Senator, some said a Jewish liberal from Brooklyn couldn’t get elected statewide. How did that turn out?

2. Do you really believe that we could win with AOC on the ticket? Because I don't, as much as like her.

WE have lost the house, the senate, the executive branch (all of it, including the presidency, the cabinet level departments and the entire DOJ) in the last 4 years. What do we have to lose? To 'improve' on our chances, we need a whole new approach entirely because I'm too old and too decrepit to get kicked in the nethers again in '28 trying the same old thing.

Give me candidates that will fight like maniacs and go hard after the scumbags while having NO POWER; and then see if we can get them into power to stop the bleeding and turn things around.

If we actually have elections in 2028, there will be enough disaffected and hurting people that an exciting, energetic, young and DIFFERENT ticket can make all previous assumptions moot.

AOC has little chance in the fly-over states. After the last election, my sense is that no Democratic woman could attract significant numbers of cross-over voters, and that a Republican is likely to be elected as the first female President.

Ignoring the youth and younger at heart voters, failing to make them see that the GOP does not give a fuck about them or their problems (like wages, debts from college, rent and housing affordability) as top of the ticket concerns has not worked out well for us at all. Since 2009, we have lost the House, the Senate, the Presidency twice to a lunatic fuck-wad and seen the SCOTUS turned into a partisan hack band of unqualified bums.

Yes.
I believe that trying the opposite approach when repeatedly getting killed is worth considering strongly...otherwise, we can start auditioning for the role of the pseudo- Washington Generals to get roundhoused in the head by the GOP Globetrotters.

The overall excitement is a by-product, and energetic messengers are better to sell the uninspired...but its not just putting a younger face on it - it is NEW and 'younger-centric' issues alongside energetic presentation/standard bearers.
