General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsBernie Sanders: I have a message for Trump supporters:
First, focus not on what he says, but what he does.
Second, if you believe in the Constitution, you cannot support the richest guy in the world unilaterally cutting programs that were authorized by Congress.
Trump is going to "cut programs that you and your families need... Your families may not be able to get the healthcare that they need. Your mother may not be able to get into the nursing home that she has to get into because Medicaid pays a substantial part of that."
... "if you're a Trump supporter and you're a working-class person, understand that they're going after you," Sanders concluded.

(1,559 posts)I agree, Trump is gonna take us all down. And sadly, he could care less. Trumps ignorance will most likely affect 75% of the population in one way or another.

(12,429 posts)Even if they did accidentally hear Bernie, they would either have no idea what he's talking about or will have already rationalized anything bad as just a side effect of what "must be done" to end all the "fraud and corruption." I think it'll be easy to maintain that attitude as long as it's anyone else being hurt, but we're on a trajectory where a LOT of people are going to get hurt by this idiocy.

(7,893 posts)Trump voters will be painfully woken by Trump's actions as their daily lives are affected negatively.
A slow and painful process for some, but will it make them regret their vote and decide to do it differently next time?
