So, Trump has just told a federal judge in a court filing that his admin will not comply with the court's order

Bethany 貝書穎 @BethanyAllenEbr
NEW: The Trump administration has just told a federal judge in a court filing that it will not comply with the court's order to resume funding for USAID and State Department foreign assistance.

Last Thursday, U.S. District Judge Amir Ali wrote in a filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia that the Trump administration must unfreeze foreign assistance payments to USAID and State Department grantees.

The Trump admin's response, filed by Pete Marocco, the new Director of the Office of Foreign Assistance at State, states that the administration will continue its freeze on funds for both USAID and State:

...and State:

Last week, a federal judge in Rhode Island ruled that the Trump administration was refusing to comply with a court order to unfreeze federal funding domestically.

The next step here is to see how U.S. District Judge Amir Ali responds.

thread:

...and let's be clear. This is Trump ordering this, so enough with the 'administration' bullshit.

He could order compliance, the same way he's obviously ordered defiance of these courts.

After all, Trump just put out an illegal EO yesterday making clear that he expects that only the 'Attorney General or the President' will interpret the law as it applies to the Executive branch.

It is difficult for US citizens to take to the streets because we would lose our jobs.
That’s why I think the only answer is targeted boycotts. The one day don’t buy anything event this month will be meaningless and make us look helpless.

It is difficult for workers to go on strike because we could lose our jobs. Hedge's advice leads to child labor, terrible working conditions, starvation wages, and actually being helpless, not merely looking helpless.

But it would be nice if someone like the head of the UAW would step up and lead.
But I’m just as frustrated with the pundits. They talk but how about some action. Or academics. There isn’t a prominent professor who can lead? Retired military? Where is Wesley Clark or his son?
As I’ve heard, “when it’s all said and done, a lot more is said than done”.

They would go out of business rather than stop being the thought police? I kind of doubt that would happen once they see that their business is in jeopardy of closing for real.

Jobs such as yours are specialized. There are not that many of you around to be able to just pick and choose, especially after the bosses have been repeatedly documented as being little shits. They would not be able to keep up if they constantly treat their employees like crap because they soon won't have employees. If you want an example, go check out a Panera these days. They are all understaffed and run by people who normally would not be in a management role, but the location is desperate. Almost all of the ones here in the Twin Cities are in such straits.

Plus, as I have often said, if you would get the entire staff to threaten to quit at the same time, they would have to fold, or close. We have that power. There is little the oligarchs can do about it. Just stop supporting them. You have the means to survive without that job, They do not have the means to survive without workers. The best way to enlighten them is to show your employer you mean business. Of course, this never happens because there are some people who are just too programmed to understand that the world will not end if you lose your job.

They just want you to think it will.

The text references the language of the TRO the judge issued and says it allows for this. I guess we'll see if the court agrees with this. This is a filing, not a press release.

Judge Ali blocked top Trump administration officials from enforcing a pause on foreign assistance funded through the State Department or USAID without authorization and halting new obligations of funding for foreign assistance programs pending a review.

He also barred the administration from suspending contracts, grants or other foreign assistance awards that were in effect as of Jan. 19 and issuing stop-work orders in connection with foreign aid awards that were in existence before Mr. Trump returned to the White House.

"Here, the stated purpose in implementing the suspension of all foreign aid is to provide the opportunity to review programs for their efficiency and consistency with priorities," Ali wrote. "However, at least to date, Defendants have not offered any explanation for why a blanket suspension of all congressionally appropriated foreign aid, which set off a shockwave and upended reliance interests for thousands of agreements with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations around the country, was a rational precursor to reviewing programs."

And ESPECIALLY since the magats on SCOTUS declared him immune from prosecution.

But yes, the last month has made it way more obvious.

The executive branch is now controlled by idiots and crooks.

SCOTUS is stuffed with corrupt minions.

And Congress is very busy doing precisely nothing (except seeing how much of their power they can shovel off to TSF).

The magats might as well light the damn thing on fire, along with the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and the portrait of George Washington.

The plaintiffs asked for a broader order than what the court granted. The administration's reply (at least as presented above) appears to be "what we're doing falls into the exceptions the court laid out".

If you think this first month is horrific, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet.....

Some of us old farts have been screaming from the rooftops ever since Reagan.
He, corruptly and using Treasonous means, was installed in the WH by HWBush and his CABAL
Much like many of that same CABAL did in 2000 and 2004 and 2016 and 2024

As I have said many times here, the perfect title for a book about the past 45 years would be:

...no.

Thanks maga justices and judges who held up a trial 15 months after charges dropped.

What trial lasts 15 months?

You guys seem really afraid to confront the Supreme Court who delayed a HEARING for THREE MONTHS, and THEN delayed the decision unraveling perfectly good charges by MAKING UP immunity for their boy.

So you're just advantaging this attack on the prosecutors, over TWO dozen, not to mention the grand juries who make these charging decisions, exploiting the way they held the case, all up to troll the person who could have stopped the prosecution at any time, but was still in court pressing the case when we voted.

I'd not only have to be really stupid to buy all of that, I'd need to be inclined to let fucking Roberts, Alito, Thomas, and the other fucks on the courts off like ALL the Garland bashers do.

It's just amazing to see Democrats refusing to even mention the republican judges and justices who actually delayed the trial for FIFTEEN MONTHS!
