NBC station in Philadelphia did an interview with a laid-off IRS employee who voted for Trump but not "a wrecking ball"

Print story with a lot more in the video here:

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/philadelphia-irs-layoffs-firings-union-president-trump/4114738/

“You know when he talks about government waste and all that, yes, I’m behind it,” McCabe said. “I believe there is a lot of stuff in the government that needs fixing. And that’s part of the reason why I actually wanted to work for the government, actually. To help change. Help change the things that are wrong in the world, you know? I thought that someone with his business acumen would have come in with a fine-tooth comb and actually found it instead of coming in with a wrecking ball and destroying people’s lives for no reason.”

When you suck at deals, you do things like overpay to buy it in the first place, and then dump a ton of cash on renovations, thinking that because you're such a swell businessperson, these 'investments' are going to 'pay off'. Then they don't, because you actually suck at business. And/or the whole enterprise was a scam where you extracted the maximum amount of money from it for as long as you could, then ran out on the bill by declaring bankruptcy. The old 'privatizing the profits, socializing the costs' scheme.

I though that was called "business incompetence."

I need to get a revised and updated edition of the Dictionary of Republicanese.

The guy seems relatively sane and coherent, which begs the question of how he ended up voting for Trump?

He's also probably not in debt *anymore* because of how many hundreds of million$ the rubes have sent him over the past 10 years. Shit, he pocketed like $230B on the 'Stop The Steal' fundraising scam in Nov 2020-Jan 2021 alone. Brought in like $250M and spent $17M on the legal cases trying (in vain of course) to show to any court any shred of fraud. That said, I'd be very surprised if only 6 of the businesses he's owned over the years have filed for bankruptcy, I'd wager there's been many more than that.

You sure about that?
I could maybe(!) believe $230 MILLION not billion.
The SPAC and his ridiculous crypto have pushed his net worth up a lot, but that doesn't necessarily lead to liquidity.
And, the debt still exists.
I'll grant that, on paper, his net worth is now strongly positive but that doesn't lead me to believe the debt load is not still a burden.

Business acumen = rich white dude

Better paraphrase...I voted for the rich old white guy because I thought he would put uppity black and brown people in their place.

Especially if they even thought about getting unemployment, medicare, or any other entitlement.

Cause only entitlement for rich white folks, like I will be one day, are OK

LIE about why they voted for the Felon.

Here’s the truth ( humor)

1 Wife told him that Trump was a jerk and not to vote for him
2 Wife is laughing at him every minute and tells the kids how stupid their dad is.
3 Relatives and neighbors are basically telling him to FAFO
4 He’s trying to sell his Trump crypto coins, Bible, watch, etc. Before his wife finds out. - wife already knows and had divorce attorney on retainer since the election

Some Americans appear too stupid to fix. I believe in education - but the 30 years of media propagandizing against
the administrative state has just produced countless dunbfucks like this guy. He's right that there's waste - but this "cure" is worse than
the disease. Who in their right mind knowing Trump's history would attribute business acumen to him? JFC. And it is not bona-fide cost cutting anyway - it's just setting aside money to give away as tax cuts to the rich.
