It isn't about the mineral rights that Ukraine owns which might be worth tons of money that is an Okie
Doke aka look over here. The war in which the people of Ukraine and their allies have fought so
bravely in it is about the Ukrainian Peoples human and national rights. Trump has zero right
to ask or demand anything from those brave people. He is just a Russian Agent who is working
for Americas downfall and doing whatever Putin and the oligarchs want him to do. With Bondi
as the A.G. and Tulsi as the head of intel Trump is working non stop for Putin. The GRU and storm
15-16 (Russian propaganda) might as well have offices in the White House and the D o J.
Make no mistake about it Trump is a threat to the world and has to be stopped. The firing of
the members of the joint chiefs of staff and some of the militarys top brass along with the
purging of the FBI of the agents who believe in the rule of law as that corrupt human chancre
is installed to lead it are huge red flags. Hell, we have 2 of Trumps henchmen giving Nazi
salutes in public and then smiling.
Btw that election was way dirty too. We are in deep shit people. This isnt about mineral rights it
is about human rights world wide.

We are stumbling through a landscape of the torturous unknown. What next has two meanings to me right now. 1) What will the next deranged action of destruction be? 2) What next? What more can I do?
I'm tired, but won't rest. I told Mr. Dahlia that in doing all I can, I may sacrifice my sanity while trying to save Democracy.

What I didn't expect was being questioned here for saying that Trump is a Russian agent whether wittingly or unwittingly.
Imagine, I have to provide a link that undeniably proves that Putin controls Trump.
Robert Mueller got indictments from 13 Russian Nationals, 3 Russian companies, 12 Russian GRU officers and I have to provide a link that proves Putin owns Trump.

(13,751 posts)But Trump eventually made a comeback, and according to several sources with knowledge of Trumps business, foreign money played a large role in reviving his fortunes, in particular investment by wealthy people from Russia and the former Soviet republics. This conclusion is buttressed by a growing body of evidence amassed by news organizations, as well as what is reportedly being investigated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Southern District of New York. It is a conclusion that even Trumps eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has appeared to confirm, saying in 2008after the Trump Organization was prospering againthat Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.
Trumps former longtime architect, Alan Lapidus, echoed this view in an interview with FP this month. Lapidus said that based on what he knew from the internal workings of the organization, in the aftermath of Trumps earlier financial troubles he could not get anybody in the United States to lend him anything. It was all coming out of Russia. His involvement with Russia was deeper than hes acknowledged.

(17,356 posts)If I believed the military as a whole, or even a meaningful majority, would adhere to their oath to "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic", I might think otherwise and agree. But I'm quite sure today that all would not.
Historically, that specific phrase in the oath has been interpreted to mean support and defend the Constitution not a king, monarch or person. Today, the radical right, including the many who are in the military and have reached very high levels (e.g., Michael Flynn) interpret the phrase instead to mean the "idea of America" and to "American values".
The words "not to a person, not to a king or monarch" are not contained in the Oath, but that is how it has always been described or interpreted since the phrase "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic" was first adopted. It is a very specific interpretation leaving little doubt as to what it means. We all have our own idea about "the idea of America" and "American values". I'm also quite sure mine nor yours aligns with the radical right's idea of what "the idea of America" means.

(17,356 posts)That's what I think it would take to do so. And that isn't going to happen. Even if they did, Vance would step in. Do you think he would put us back on the right and secure track? Fat chance in my opinion. He's tied in tight with the techno-billionaire world.
That's my best guess opinion right now related to your first question. This civil war has been brewing for a couple decades -- and probably longer for at least the radicals on the right. The seams seem ready to burst.
Same time, I do think we have to try everything possible to beat this back via peaceful resistance long enough to hopefully take the Senate and/or the House in 2026. That is our only hope of avoiding violence. I'm just not sure Trump and Musk will let us do that, i.e., stall their complete and finite grasp. To me, they seem to be doing the opposite. Stirring up and poking those of us who are with them; at the same time, consolidating their control over all of the administrative, authoritative and enforcement levers of governance.
Sad.

They are actually pretty good at showing up to town hall meetings -- they turned out like crazy during the Tea Party craze. Continue to believe that they will give the Rs an earful, which could move them to take action against djt. Repugs will probably stop holding town halls -- but these people will still at least make calls to those offices. It will be even worse if cuts or more stringent requirements are put on Social Security Disability.

(77,257 posts)Following the end of the war, Krasnov was repatriated and executed by the Soviet authorities.
From Wiki
Pyotr Nikolayevich Krasnov (Russian: Пётр Николаевич Краснов; 22 September [O.S. 10 September] 1869 17 January 1947), also known as Peter Krasnov, was a Russian military leader, writer and later Nazi collaborator.
Krasnov served as a lieutenant general in the Imperial Russian Army during World War I and later led anti-Bolshevik forces during the Russian Civil War, where he served as the ataman of the Don Republic. Approximately 25,000 to 40,000 people were executed by Krasnov's White Cossacks, which lasted until the Red Army conquered the region following their victory at Tsaritsyn.[1]
After the civil war, he lived in exile. During World War II, Krasnov collaborated with the Germans who mobilized Cossack forces to fight against the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa. Following the end of the war, Krasnov was repatriated and executed by the Soviet authorities.
