I could not, in good faith, accept money that has the blood of innocent federal workers all over it and which will do more than fuel the inflation that is already on the rise from Trump's tariffs. if it were issued and sebt to me, I would instantly donate the whole amount to St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children"s Cancer, or to the Cleveland Clinic, which is currently the victim of a smear campaign by an Ohio MAGA political pack that has been accusing it, a hospital with one of the mosr esteemed of global reputations, of being a "woke" instutution. Furthermore, I would publicize my decision on the news and all over social media, not for self-aggrandisement, but to shame Trump and Musk for having tried to buy our loyalty at the expense of the nation's democracy.

Musk hit a nerve somewhere, because he's pandering to all those MAGAs who thought they were going to get a rebate check like they did during Covid. And like President Obama said, it was Congress who gave them that rebate check, not Trump.
