One remaining hope to save our democracy?

That would be the Supreme Court.

But can they move fast enough to prevent its total collapse? That is left to be seen.

Then the question becomes: Will they want to save our democracy? Or have they become so intertwined with the cult of personality that they cannot judge rationally? That is still an open question.

The danger is in not seeing the urgency of our predicament. As we search for a wise, judicious solution, everything crumbles around us.

We have not yet seen the worst of this mess.

5. So they're going to restore voting rights to all of the people their rulings disenfranchised?

They've gutted the Voting Rights Act, getting rid of democracy is their goal.

11. Then the six Republicans can hang out with their rich friends, that's all they wanted to do anyway.

Then again, maybe their rich friends won't need them anymore after they've been castrated.

The SCOTUS isn't going to save us, they literally approved themselves taking bribes recently. They are bought and paid for.

Maybe some narrow rulings against Trump but otherwise they won’t do much to stop him.

I think the single biggest hope is still us, we the people, putting pressure on our reps and on the econony.

...they will change direction.

But they are much like the supporters of Herr Hitler. They stopped supporting him after their country had been bombed to ruin and their Leader was in a bunker, looking for a way to escape.

As always, it is up to the young generation to save their future. The old warriors will not save them.

Sam, Clarence, Neil are on the same page.

The balance in the middle is Roberts, Kavanaugh, Barrett. These are the ones that matter. You'd think it hopeless, but these three seem to come together on some issues.

It's bleak but not hopeless.

SCOTUS has shown they are more than willing to dump out Republic into the trash. Go all the way back to Citizens United. Overturning Roe. Granting the President almost total immunity.

Reality is that our Constitution always held the seeds of its own destruction, the founders designed it that way. SCOTUS isn't going to save us.

Our only possibility for salvation will be from the people themselves and as far as I can tell we are too stupid to even see (or care) what is happening.

Don't forget - Friday Feb 28th is the 24 hour Economic blackout.

....about restoring the USAID funding.

They have no enforcement power, not even the Supreme Court. So if they want to continue to play their game, then our democracy as we have known it, is indeed over.
