is, among several reasons, for eventual political use in elections by nefarious actors who specialize in micro-targeting propaganda. Give him a few more months they'll make Cambridge Analytica look like a Dick and Jane book by comparison. The AI-holes working for him and others will tailor propaganda programs towards you and then through online tracking etc. they will assess your subsequent activity and plug that into their "profile" about how you respond to this or that.
Now think about his company "Neural Link" with the brain implants. Do you think he hasn't thought about making it capable for people to "receive the message"?

(732 posts)Suddenly Transhumanism is now acceptable to the religious wing nuts so long as their version of Jesus comes back to save humanity. Yes, Musk is eying a Superhuman or Super Soldier and it would be on track with his Robot and AI rollouts. He see's even bigger DoD contracts. I'm sure he's looking for that Dark State UAP tech too because chemical rockets, even if you can make a cool rocket catch-pad, are too costly and that tech could likely be a new clean power tech saving the planet so I'm sure he's all over it! What's really wrong with it is he gets to see all of his competitors data, contracts, bids and even bank accounts!
Yes, he may help people walk again with neurolink, but misuse of this tech is only inevitable and I can't even image warehouses full of these super soldiers across the planet! I'm sure tech-bros love it!
Ten years ago Cambridge Analytical had 14k data points on each Fakebook user and steered ads to the maga red meat crowd. Now, you bet there's AI running in the background analyzing our every keystroke for the capture of our personal psychographics, now add our taxes, banks, buying habits then later throw in our very own social media score to check in to see that we are Obeying or taking the pill.

(9,056 posts)Transhumanism. AI falls into the category known as "dangerous knowledge" and I've written about that concept before. Sometimes people misunderstand the concept and say "all knowledge is fine, it's just the misuse by people". Unfortunately they don't understand the concept of some knowledge appearing to be quite useful but in fact is way beyond our development as people to use it responsibly enough not to pose cataclysmic risk to ourselves and the planet.
AI literally could take knowledge that poses major risks, add to it and amplify that risk beyond rational control. It could also take low level risk knowledge add to it and amplify it into major risk.
The point being that we as people mostly can't/don't control our burger, fries and potato chip intake let alone behave responsibly with highly advanced tech. Most of the deep thinkers writing about tech and people since the '60's have been warning that the concept we have developed that "any problem caused by science/tech will be solved by more science/tech and so we will be saved" is simply a belief as opposed to an absolute fact.
So a madman like Edolph, absolutely sure only he knows best, having technology at his disposal that has tremendous risk to mankind is a recipe for disaster.
